This is the sort of…idea I had for a Sasha Is The Last OG Assistant Standing AU. In one of those list story post things because I don’t really have enough for full prose. This gets really long, sorry.

• when Sasha tackles Tim to save him from Prentiss, it doesn’t work
• they both get attacked by worms but don’t die since Prentiss wants Jon
• Prentiss comes for Jon and Martin, so Martin kills her with the fire extinguishers
• since Jon is temporarily disabled, Martin runs to get Elias while Jon calls 999
• Martin gets chased by remaining worms into Artifact Storage
• the not!them does some weird Stranger stuff and makes a mannequin head talk
• it says for Martin to come closer, making him move farther away and into the Web Table
• he turns around and gets Not!Themmed
• Tim is the only one that remembers Martin
• gets angry at Jon and Sasha for not believing him at first
• Jon and Sasha explore the tunnels together later and find Gertrude’s body
• Jon is suspicious of everyone again, like in canon
• I would say less suspicious of Sasha simply because she seemed just as shocked as Jon to find Gertrude, dead
• but still. everyone is a suspect.
  
• I think the same things happen wrt Martin lying on his CV
• haha, that’s definitely the only thing he’s lying about
• Jon’s marks proceed as normal
• once he realizes his assistants couldn’t have killed Gertrude, he decides to trust Tim about the Not!Them and researches it
• goes into the tunnels alone to kill it
• Leitner meets him, dies, etc.
• Sasha is kind of scared now that two people have been murdered here
  
• goes on her own paranoia arc and doesn’t trust Tim or Elias or Jon
• Jon decides he needs answers, as in canon, and goes to Jude and Mike
• Daisy almost kills him, etc.
  
• Sasha meets Annabelle Cane, who marks her with the Web and talks to her
• that does not help her paranoia, and she goes and confronts Jon when he comes back to the Archives after his kidnappings and world travels
• Jon and Sasha have a huge argument that leads to Jon accidentally compelling a statement from her
• Sasha tells about her meeting with Annabelle Cane; Jon does not like that one bit
• Elias confesses to murdering Leitner, as in canon, and Jon and Sasha form a truce
• Basira, Daisy, Jon, Tim, and Sasha go to the Unknowing
• the same things happen to Basira, Tim, Jon, and Daisy
  
• Sasha makes it home with Basira to Melanie, who didn’t go, I guess
  
• Melanie manages to stab Elias, sending him to the hospital and her to jail
• Peter Lukas becomes the head of the Magnus Institute and bails Melanie out of jail
• while Jon is in his coma, Sasha goes on a bit of a research rabbit hole
• she, too, needs answers, and Jon didn’t really have the chance to tell her anything
• she sort of…goes around to each power?
• goes to the Cult of the Lightless Flame
  
• does not fare well
• Simon Fairchild comes along after she spends enough time at the top of Scafell Pike, the tallest mountain in England. He throws her off and catches her again, muttering something about Annabelle Cane
• she then gets stabbed by Trevor after finding him
  
• she dies medically for ten minutes
• is at the Institute during the flesh attack and gets hurt a little
  
• Jon wakes up, having been found by Oliver Banks
• Basira and Melanie are getting isolated from each other; Sasha is off getting hurt
• Peter Lukas is especially trying to isolate Basira, as she is rather lonely without Daisy
• Sasha does explain everything when Jon comes back
• when Jon realizes about the slaughter bullet, it’s Sasha he tells
• however, only he can see it; Basira refuses to help him
• Sasha refuses to let him do it alone, saying she’s learned her lesson about rushing into things by herself (only sort of true)
• so they do it together and unfortunately both get stabbed
• Jon and Sasha go to the Dark Sun after Basira again refuses
• she says that she doesn’t want to be caught up in Jon’s stupid plans, that he hurt Melanie, and that she’s better off alone
• (something about the Buried I can’t figure it out yet)
  
• Melanie quits by blinding herself
  
• Peter yeets Sasha into the Lonely and Jon goes after her
• why Sasha and not Basira? because Sasha and Jon followed Peter and Basira into the tunnels and into the Panopticon
• she had to see what they were up to, and Jon insisted on coming
• (he Saw that Sasha was running off into the tunnels)
• then Basira turned around and went the other way once Jonah revealed himself, leaving only Jon and Sasha tiredly coming up the stairs
• then Jon and Sasha go to the safehouse and just…live for a while.
  
• Jon is on a walk when Basira gives them the statements
• Sasha looks at them out of curiosity and a strange need
• (it’s the Web’s pull)
• she reads Jonah’s statement to Jon, and with horror, starts to read the ritual, ending the world
  
• (she is marked! Go and read back and see! She is marked fully)
• Jon comes in right as she says “I open the door!” her head was breaking, she was going to go mad because she isn’t an avatar, but they meet eyes, and suddenly
• Jon takes the magnitude of knowledge of an apocalyptic world, but Sasha is the only one who can smite people
• basically, Jon becomes an extremely powerful eye avatar, but without smiting powers, and Sasha is able to smite. Also, Sasha is the one capable of being the Pupil of the Eye
• Sasha would not receive the knowledge that she gains as the Archivist, since she’s not…you know…the Archivist
• it all goes to Jon; thus Jon has to do statements
  
• they do the usual stuff, the canon stuff, I dunno
• then they meet Annabelle, together, and she explains
• explains that the Web wanted the world to end so it could spread to other worlds, you know, the usual
• but Annabelle had both Jon and Sasha marked (she only got the idea for this after Sasha didn’t get Not!Themmed)
• if one of them went to one world and the other remained, it would tether the fears to two worlds at once, tearing them apart
• they would be defeated
• well, Annabelle says, defeated is a strange word for this. It would be more like dilution. They would disintegrate into pieces so small that any Fear-related events could be just another story. Their influence would be negligible
• would it stay that way, Jon asks
• I don’t know, says Annabelle, I think so, or it would take so long as for the answer to be yes, but maybe not. Maybe it won’t work at all
• they try it, nevertheless. Jon stays there, wanting to help people if this works and the apocalypse is over. He wants to help people with their trauma, in a way only he can. Sasha leaves, and the goodbye is tearful
• it ends with Annabelle wishing them good luck
