I feel like Season 5 Jon is the closest to his true character out of all the seasons. Because we have Season 1 Jon, who isn’t very nice to Martin, and we know that’s out of character for him. And then Season 2 Jon is paranoid, Season 3 Jon is a pinball in the trauma pinball machine, and Season 4 Jon is alone. 

But Season 5 Jon is safe, for once. Almost nothing can hurt him anymore, and out of the things that still can, he could stop them. He has Martin, and they are both safe, especially by the standards of the apocalypse. He is getting terror pumped through him constantly, so, you know, he’s probably still stressed, but he sounds so at ease. He’s just very Jon there. 

And the crazy thing is it’s still a bad time for him. He’s in this new world he accidentally created and never wanted and doesn’t want, and he has to see it and dictate it for the Eye. But he can’t be touched by the horror for once. Only a few people could possibly hurt him, and they’re mostly his friends. (Marginal for Daisy. Not anymore at least.) He has Martin, and he can hardly be hurt, and he has all of knowledge at his fingertips.
