Whether or not Naomi Herne’s experience was supernatural (which it was, as Jon and everyone else now know), his suggestion of her getting therapy is a totally valid suggestion!

She was so lonely that the death of her boyfriend caused her to almost lose herself in a supernatural metaphor for depression. Therapy might be helpful.
