More vague Magnus Archives from my life:

My dad was driving me to kung fu and the car stopped on its own because it was getting too close to the truck in front of us. I was like “why’d the car stop” and he said the above. Then he said that “you think you’re in control of the car, but you’re not. It’s like life.” (paraphrased)

Me: *eyes emoji* *web emoji*

Him: “You think you have free will, but you don’t. It’s just all part of the machine.” (paraphrased)

Me: *MAG 147: Weaver flashes before my eyes*

Also, later he was hiding in the bathroom and whistling randomly because he knew it would make us confused. This is because whistling means to come to the person, usually for dinner. He was just doing this for no reason.

and also the side gate is really creaky when it opens/closes and it sounds pretty much like a) any creaky door in a horror movie but b) especially Helen’s doors. So that’s what I think of every time.
