This fact was confirmed by the creators (Jonny said 1% of people have Entity encounters or something). That is the final word on anyone saying Jon was stupid for not believing the statements. This was before he read a single statement, too. He literally, within five minutes of the podcast, said “I believe that supernatural stuff exists”.

Edit: the actual quote is ‘Most reach dead ends, predictably enough, as incidents of the supernatural, such as they are – and I always emphasise there are very few genuine cases – tend to resist easy conclusions.’ (MAG 1) He’s talking about when he was in research and looking at statements. Very few cases does not equal no cases.
