In a story where nearly everyone dies, and nearly everyone dies tragically, painfully, unmourned and afraid, Georgie was promised a death with no fanfare, no warning, and no fear.
Perhaps that is a tragedy too. Georgie survives the apocalypse, and survives, and survives. She outlives them all and will outlive Basira and Melanie too.
In a world in which the powers that be are ones of terror, she is estranged from them. She does not fear, and so she is apart and alone.
