I will never get over how dehumanized Jon is throughout the podcast. Simply referred to as an archive, a living chronicle of terror. He’s not even a person. He’s nothing more than a tool Jonah uses for his own gain. Goddamn.
I have so many headcanons for him he’s basically an OC. I just think about him a lot okay???
He likes the sound of the rain but hates thunder
He has sectoral heterochromia. His eyes are brown except for a small patch on his left eye, which is blue
He attended boarding school and was roommates with Jonah (oh my god they were roommates)
He had a hard time making friends and was picked on constantly. Jonah was pretty much the only person who tolerated him
He likes to fall asleep to the sound of Jonah working
Unlike Jonah, Barnabas is not academically gifted. He probably has a learning disability of some sort but it’s the 1700s so they don’t know that. They just assume he’s lazy or stupid
He’s kinda the family disappointment, reduced to living in the shadow of his brother, who is much more well adjusted and liked. He goes to the same boarding school
Personality wise, I think he would have a lot in common with Martin (Jonahbas/jmart parallels save me….). He often feels like he needs to set himself on fire to keep others warm
He’s also stubborn, impulsive, and prideful. It leads him to get into situations he can’t control or handle (ie what happened with Mordechai)
He gets jealous VERY easily. He’s very protective of his one true companion and gets ticked off when Mordechai comes into the picture. He’s afraid Mordechai is trying to take Jonah from him (which he did in a way)
Barnabas and Jonah did have a genuine relationship, but as Jonah falls deeper into the clutches of The Eye, he starts to ignore Barnabas. Cue Jonahbas breakup
It’s mentioned that Barnabas didn’t care much about Jonah’s absence. I’ve chosen to interpret that as a lingering bitterness towards Jonah for leaving him mixed with the effects of The Lonely
At some point, Barnabas stops sending letters because he knows no one will answer. But he continues writing them, because a part of him refuses to give up hope that he could be saved
Jonah finds his remains along with a stack of unsent letters, the writing getting messier and more desperate with each one. Many of them are completely illegible because the ink is smeared with tears

Redrew a few Jon drawings that I’d done in the past in my current style. He’s gone through so many changes within 4 years

[ID: Multiple drawings of Jonathan Sims from the Magnus Archives. Jon is a brown man with scars all over him. Each drawing gives him slightly different hairstyles and differing amounts of facial hair. And each drawing is accompanied by a faded drawing behind it for reference, as well as the date for each of those references.
The first Jon drawing, referencing one from March of 2021, has him walking along. Most of his long dark hair is tied up in a bun, while some of it hangs loose around his shoulders. Only the front portion of his hair is grey. A magical neon green eye symbol floats above him and casts him in a green light.
The middle drawing references one from November 2021. This one has more of a salt and pepper pattern to its short, wavy hair. His moustach and beard adopting thr pattern as well. Some of the hair from the left side of his head is missing, replaced with a red scar. His eyes don’t glow in this version as they did in the previous one.
The drawing on its right references one from September 2022. This Jon has no facial hair and a much shorter hairstyle. His eyebrows as well are much thinner than previous iterations. But like the first one, only the front portion of his hair is turned grey, leaving the rest dark.
Going to the bottom left, and referencing an image from just a month after the previous one, this Jon only has dark hair. It’s up to his ears again and his moustach makes a return as well. This version of the moustache is curlier than the others.
And finally, the last drawing takes inspiration from one from November 2023. The grey and black streaks with straight hair makes a return, this time with more light than dark color. And his moustache has straightened out as well.

I love when ppl draw the Magnus Institute and it’s filled to the brim with eye themed decor, especially if it’s sometime before season 3. Like the archives crew have no idea why the institute is filled with framed drawings of eyes and suspiciously eye shaped wallpaper and they just. Don’t question it. Their boss wears some sort of eye paraphernalia every day and they just think he’s rlly into ophthalmology or smth. And then they find out the institute works for an evil entity called The Eye and they just look around and go “huh”
Imagine if they just had those Orwell-esc “Big Brother is watching you” type posters

My life revolves around him. I have over 50 artworks of him. They’re on my walls and each of my accounts. I dress like him. I want to look like him. I cut my hair like him. I have made him a shrine in my room. I have him in my phonecase to take everywhere. I have a bag full of elias merch I’ve made. I think about this man everyday.
Don’t worry about being eliaspilled i think what i have is in its final stage and would win me a night in the pysch ward but they wouldn’t even know how to describe it.
I’m so deranged that if i had to go to the psych ward id go to Elias hospital which is an actual hospital in my town.

I have been seeing the apple trend everywhere but I have yet to see it for lonelyeyes. So obviously I had to do it. Not too sure if I like how the silhouette turned out??? Idk. But it’s an excuse to draw Elias’ side profile so it’s a win in my book
Thinking so so hard about a Barnabas lives AU. Initially I was gonna make him a Lonely avatar; he decides the only way to escape The Lonely is to become a part of it. But after hours of doomscrolling on this hellsite I’ve been sold on Corruption!Barnabas. Ok ok hear me out: he has so much love to give but no one to give it to. His family has cut him off, he has no friends, and his lover, his last hope at making it out of The Lonely alive, isn’t responding to his letters. He knows he needs company if he wants to live. He is so desperate to be loved. He doesn’t care if it hurts him. He just wants someone to talk to. He needs to feel less alone. There are no people in this personal hell, but there are bugs. The bugs will listen.
Oh yeah. It’s all coming together. Idk what I want him to be based on (insects, disease, mold, whatever). Leaning towards mold but idk
