Breekon and Hope are not brothers OR dating, but a secret third thing (literally two halves of the same whole). I am kind of a sucker for both interpretations tho
Not every character needs to be in a romantic relationship. I get shipping is fun but it gets out of character sometimes. Also sometimes it ruins the dynamic of the characters idk
Basira doesn’t strike me as religious, and frankly I think it’s weird that the fandom collectively decided she’s Muslim because of her name. There’s nothing wrong with having a religious headcanon, but the fandom treats hijabs like an accessory rather than a sacred head covering. I have not seen a SINGLE piece of art or writing that depicts Basira actually practicing Islam (celebrating holidays, praying five time a day, etc). Idk I just think it’s weird to sacrifice her character for the sake of “representation”
(CW: SA MENTION) I am SO tired of the fandom writing Elias/Jonah (and Peter to some extent) as a sexual predator/r*pist. He would not do that. Just because he’s a bad person doesn’t mean he would SA someone. He is an avatar with literal fear powers. He can get his way without physically harming someone. I could literally write an essay on this it makes me so mad. It’s such a huge character assassination to take this villain who is evil in interesting ways and make him a predator as a general hand wave to be like “look this guy is bad.” WE KNOW THAT. Let him be horrible in other, more fictional ways
On the topic of Elias and Peter, while I do think the common fandom interpretation of serial divorcees lonelyeyes is pretty funny, being stuck in a loveless marriage is much more lonely, and therefore something Peter would want more. I’m sorry but I cannot imagine he would have any reason to marry Elias (other than money ig but he has plenty of that). It doesn’t really benefit either of them to be married and divorced 20 times and tbh it doesn’t rlly fit the characters either. The only reason they would be in any sort of relationship would be to feed their respective patrons (and for money) and they certainly wouldn’t love each other (I am kind of a hypocrite on this last point tho bc I do enjoy a good fluffy lonelyeyes fic)

I find it a little baffling in fics Elias is constantly calling Jon ‘Archivist’ when talking to him, when he only does so in three episodes and he calls Jon Archivist when talking to him in only one of those. yet it’s the opposite for fics and I just wonder why lol
@myusernameisstolen YOU ARE SO RIGHT. God I will NEVER get over how much fic writers to a disservice to Elias/Jonah. He presents himself as boring and unremarkable on purpose and he’s good at it!! It’s not out of character to write him as just Some Guy, especially if the fic is from another character’s POV and takes place in seasons 1 and 2, because that’s how he is! Fic writers just seem to have the mindset of “this guy is the antagonist so therefore he has to be evil 24/7” even though that’s not how he is in the podcast.
Being fixated on niche parts of a fandom is so stupid. Like what do you mean my favorite TMA ship is between the main antagonist and a guy that was mentioned in one episode and doesn’t even have his own wiki page. Get real
