So I think Barnabas would turn to piracy after struggling to make a living on land. He doesn’t have a crew and barely gets by on what he steals which is mostly food. Thinking maybe Mordechai is a high ranking officer in the British navy who REALLY wants him dead

Jonah is a siren who does in fact want to eat Barnabas when they first meet but doesn’t for a reason I haven’t decided yet. Maybe he thinks he’s interesting and wants to keep him around for a bit.

Sirens have the ability to read minds so they best know how to target their victims. They can also communicate telepathically with one another, since they can’t rlly speak underwater. They have their own language but usually know a decent amount of whatever human language is relevant to the region they’re in (in this case English)

Also!!! All sirens are biologically female and appear female by default, but have the ability to change their appearance depending on their victim’s preference. That’s right sirens are WOKE now. They call me the woker ‼️‼️

This is Jonah’s more feminine appearance, but he prefers to present as masculine most of the time, something that’s pretty rare for sirens. Jonah’s birth name doesn’t have an English translation, so Barnabas gives him the name Jonah. Idk I think it’s sweet :3
