It’s super bittersweet that the girl Georgie was close with in college sounds a lot like Melanie.

I wonder if Georgie ever heard Melanie go on a rant about what a pompous dickhead Jon could be and had flashbacks to when she used to get lunch with Alex and have conversations that sounded much the same. I wonder if that familiarity is part of what drew her to Melanie in the first place.

I always love character parallels and irony, so I think it’s neat how the person Georgie ends up falling in love and escaping the horrors with is a mirror to the close friend who unintentionally pulled her into the horrors. I’m a huge fan of that writing choice, though it does kind of make me feel like staring blankly at a wall and just…thinking…for awhile.
