One of my least favorite TMA details is that Jon’s narration style in Season 5 is the same narration style Jonah uses when observing Jon’s coma dreams. It’s an interesting detail when the other parallel in this situation is that both Jonah and Jon are using this narration style while looking above people’s suffering as an avatar instead of seeing it from an even, human, ground.

Something something “this narration style is used to portray how objectively, poetically, and yet distantly Eye avatars observe human suffering.” Something something “And therefore this narration style is used to show that Jon’s humanity has slipped from him enough in Season 5 that he’s sounding like Jonah.” Something something this parallel made me have to stare at a blank wall for awhile.
