“Mr. Spider wants more.” It’s not just the main sentence in “A Guest For Mister Spider,” it’s also a sentence that sums up Jon as a character.

Jon is a character who always wants more.

He starts reading statements, then he wants to learn more about how they all connect. He learns more about how they all connect, then he wants to learn how they work. He learns about how they work, then he starts to become a monster himself.

And when he starts to becomes a monster he also end’s up accidentally ending the world. But unlike other avatar’s who would be satisfied at that point, Jon decides that he wants more than to be the harbinger of doom. He wants to be the one to reverse the mistakes he made.

And he does…right after betraying his friends plan because, despite everything, he still wanted more than the ending he and the universe received.
