removing the minecraft tag would be good because there's already a big issue in their community with minecraft youtubers clogging up their feed when they just want to look at stuff involving the game itself, its been really upsetting to them lately and its just basic internet etiquette

again, i don’t really watch ytmc or consume the fan content so i wasn’t aware of any of the community drama. i will keep this in mind for the future.

Nudity, non sexual nudity are the best tags to go, truscum will tell you to add shit like bare chest tw and dysphoria tw but I’m doing so they’re gendering the body being drawn and it’s super transphobic, hope this helps!

nudity-related tags are good i think, i was thinking that pre-op chests could be triggering to some trans people (note not truscum) and possibly cause distress because of dysphoria

i am! that’s why i want to be respective when drawing content with trans folk in it, i’ll also ask my trans friends what they think of the artwork before putting anything out :)

hey, im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt here, but a cis artist drawing trans ocs shirtless and pre op is.....a really bad look, generally regarded as a bad move, and can come off really fetishistic.

i understand the concern and know that there’s a… history of several tumblr artists fetishizing trans people. i will think again of portraying him like that, and if i would draw him shirtless he’d be depicted e.g. from the behind where you couldn’t see his chest.

my intention is not to concentrate on the sexuality of my characters, however if people generally think that something is offensive or ‘a bad move’, i don’t want to put out content that is considered insensitive.

as a trans person (im addressing previous), not everyone who hasnt had surgery is preop. trans people exist who dont want surgery. its completely fine for cis people to depict trans people in real trans bodies. theres absolutely a line but drawing a trans person with breasts isnt fetishistic. its just a trans person existing

that’s very true. the reason i thought about including my trans character (partially) nude was for symbolic purposes and to showcase some cultural code, but i’m also sure that that could be done without explicitly showing it (as in, risking slipping too close to sexualization as a cis person).

hi im the original anon. i absolutely 1000% agree that trans bodies need to be represented more and i myself an afab trans person (who does not plan on top surgery).

that being said, i still find it a little iffy for a cis person to want to depict us naked. i want to see bodies like mine represented, but i want to see cis people lift up trans artworks.

i want to see trans bodies represented, but im tired of the fact that cis people always want to draw us naked. especially when you dont treat cis bodies the same way.

i agree it would be weird if the only trans characters that a cis artist would draw would be depicted in a sexual way. that’s however not my goal with drawing nudity, like i answered in some other ask.

i believe that trans art made by both trans and cis artists can coexist, with of course cis artists recognizing that they don’t have the moral authority in depicting trans folk over people who actually identify as trans, and of course like you said, them also lifting up trans artists’ works.

also i’m not sure if at the end you’re adressing cis artists as a whole, but personally i don’t think the two posts i have made depicting trans characters are any more suggestive in nature than the artwork i have drawn of cis people.

as another trans person I do think there is something to say about how showing breasts isn't INHERENTLY sexual, and in my opinion I think it's a good thing for cis and trans people alike to represent it in the same way one would for a flat chest. You seem to be against the idea of fetishizing the character(s), which is great in of itself. I think you should be okay drawing that!

ah, i forgot to answer this.

simplified, that’s what i had in mind with my trans oc. the context i thought about representing him nude was with another character of mine who’s gay.

in the culture that they live in, bathing in a sauna is a very personal occasion between people sharing the experience. obviously, the depiction of these characters bathing together wouldn’t be erotic in nature. it’s more about people who’ve had to be wary a good chunk of their lives to lower their guard and wind down in a place where there’s matched trust and vulnerability. you could call it a feeling of unity and solidarity.

i realize that i have a lot of ideas bubbling in my head and being the organizational mess that i am i struggle a little introducing them to other people.  nevertheless, i’ll heed to the concerns and observations of some of the asks i’ve gotten, and i’ll draw more pg art of my trans oc in the future before posting any nudity.

I'm sure you're probably trying to ease out of these asks, but I'd like to add, as a trans enby fella, I love your art with your trans stuff. Your Geralt stuff is what I see most often and love so so much, so ill at least mention about that; it warms my heart a lot. I know top surgery isn't a thing in his time, but it feels real nice to see and to think "hey, top surgery is super nice, but some folks just don't need it, look at that trans Witcher lad go!" I guess my point, if I have one, is, even if you're not trans, I think it's still fine to make trans headcanons and art if its not fetishized and infantilized.

a lot of people actually headcanon geralt as trans, which i think is sweet because y'know, in the game at least his character is meant to be this resolute and tough template for the target demographic aka men to project themselves onto

someone people have been saying, and while it’s not straight comparable, there’s certainly something about being trans and being a witcher with scars, using potions to change your physiology and being detested by a lot of the society around you

i will draw more trans characters in the future, it’s lovely to hear that you like my geralt! i actually bought the witcher 3 last week and i’ve got so much inspiration soup from it !
