Finished this beast last year. Originally done for a TMA zine, but I have since withdrawn, so here it is for all to see finally! I always thought of the Beholding as more of a vulture than an owl, but I think it could change forms as time moves on. Spools of tape haven’t been around forever after all. The twisted neck is a bit of the influence that the Spiral has had on Jon (Helen being ALMOST a sort of weird friend in some aspects). And finally, the dates on the tapes all reference things! I don’t remember what they all mean anymore, but I DO remember one of them, so maybe you can guess. ;)

I have been experimenting with new drawing style but I continue to feel lost at best and frustrated at worst. Painting digitally is both fun and shit at the same time.

NEVERTHELESS; behold sexy young gertrude and her flaming hot eldritch wife. Hot headcanon take: all archivists are prematurely greying or white haired - carrying the weight of the world will do that to you.

I KNOW that TMA is a tragedy, but I think Jon deserved to see the Admiral being 40 foot tall and living his best life in the post-apocalyptic wasteland :(
