I don't know why I thought this was a Hannibal crossover for a second but now that we're here, 100% Hannibal was an entity for The Flesh & would have attempted his own ritual if it weren't for his failure to convert Will into the partner he needed for it

DUDE
OH MY GOD
THIS IS ACTUALLY PERFECT BEST CROSSOVER EVER
I need to draw this so badly now
But hear me out
What IF Hannibal is a flesh Avatar but Will is slowly getting dragged into the Spiral and Hannibal is fighting to drag him out because he wants Will for himself. OR Hannibal is using the effect the Spiral has on him to his advantage to further influence Will and drive him into a vulnerable state where he can easily do his fleshy business (ignore the bad phrasing).
Hannibal also has strong connections to 1. Other cannibals and The Flesh fanatics, 2. Someone from The Web that he uses to further amplify his influence over the wet dog that Will is.
HOWEVER TO ADD TO THE SPICE Will is aware of the game Hanni is playing. Naturally, he doesn't want the Fleshpocalypse to happen, so he's struggling through keeping his mental state in check and also keeping Hannibal at bay. The dynamic quickly becomes a mental duel of two dark minds with intense canon-typical homoerotic undertones.
I was scared, Darla. I was so scared. I was certain I’d been set up, that they wouldn’t be returning. I turned to leave, hoping I could get back to the TMA feed but then the program began to speak from where it was trapped in the computer.
It was their voices. It was Jon and Martin's voices. I know you won’t believe me but they read the stories and I know it was their voices. I froze in place.
They grew clearer, and as the distortion faded from the recording for a moment I could make out the mechanical tones, the off-putting cadence. They spoke slowly, intoning the incident reports with steady, measured voices. Something was speaking through them, from inside the machine.
I said the only thing I could think: “Jon? Martin? Is that you?”
And those voices I have loved for eight years answered: “Some of them.”
But every time Alice speaks I squint and get very sus.
RQ has never done anything just because and every little detail is on purpose, so please tell me I'm not just looking for foreshadowing where there's none when I tell you that SHE SOUNDS LIKE MICHAEL and it's NOT just how her voice is edited?
And the way that she talks in riddles??
And how she warns Sam to not let things get into his head so that he doesn't start to spiral???
Either I smell a Spiral Alice or I'm just tripping balls. (Isn't that the whole point of the Spiral anyway???)
I firmly stand by the fact that the recent uproar of AI and AI generated imagery is the doing of the Stranger because TMA is rotting my brain and everything is a TMA reference. From the uncanny valley to the almost humanlike forms to the voices that sound almost real but aren't.
Every statement Oliver Banks or Gerry Keay is in (I'm especially fond of the Keay family. I know Mary is a bitch but their entire dynamic is alluring for me. Maybe it's just the goth in me speaking though.)
The one where Jon was away and the rest of the staff tried to take statements from people but in each separate case it ended in a disaster and they realized they can't function as an archive without the Beholder's special boy (because that was a hilarious episode)
The entirety of S3 where Jon gets yoinked like every other episode (getting either kidnapped go be forcibly moisturized, hunted for sport or otherwise actively traumatized)
It's hard to pick a favorite but generally it's either the ones I can make fun of or the ones about The End, especially the one where the dude won the gamble by cheating. That's probably the one I go back to the most.
Jon is a character that often gets treated by the fandom like a wet cat victorian man (which he is), but I want to give tribute to Scary and Eldritch™ Jon as well. This moment literally had my skin crawling.
And to you people reblogging my Jon art with "Hot Jon rights": I see you. Dinner is served hot tonight.
You're favourite of the 14 is the End, if I am correct, but what is your least favourite?
You are right! The End is my absolute favorite (though I have been torn between it and the Vast at first). Both the aesthetic of it and all of it's aspects are alluring to me. Not to mention my bone interest.
As for the least favorite... Oof, it's gotta be the Stranger, man
It's not as nasty as The Corruption but bugs and worms help with decomposition so... I guess I can stand them. I would assume the Corruption is the most common answer to such a question, but I am above mistaking disgust for fear.
The Stranger's entire thing is being unnerving and as someone who struggles with anxiety, yeah... Not a fan. I like knowing how bones look inside a body so when they don't? Unacceptable. I need to be able to look at a person and picture their bones as if I have X-ray vision.
