Martin kneels, sorting statements, and Jon stands awkwardly behind him. Jon says “Are you okay?” and Martin hums unconvincingly, tears running down his face. Jon continues: “… R- Right. I- erm- we- we’re about to go.”
Back still turned, Martin wipes his tears, says “Okay”, and stands to face Jon.
Jon sheepishly asks “Um… c- could I- can I hug you?” and rather than replying, Martin fights back tears before launching himself at Jon and flinging the statement in his hands to the ground. When they embrace, the blue and red combine into purple. Jon rests his head against the top of Martin’s head, his glasses knocked askew on his face.
They both withdraw slightly, their eyes meeting. Jon slowly leans in to initiate a kiss, and tendrils of blue creep in from the back of Martin’s neck as Jon does so. At the last second, Martin resists slightly, saying quietly: “Jon. Don’t.” The purple disappears, replaced by their distinct blue and red.
Jon takes a half-step back, one hand still cradling Martin’s cheek. He says “Okay. I- mm. Sorry.” as Martin begins to cry again, the vibrancy of his blue beginning to rapidly fade into a desaturated grey-blue.
In the last panel, they stand facing one another. There are tendrils of purple extending from the left side of Jon’s chest towards Martin, but they don’t reach him. Martin says “Please–don’t die.” Jon begins “I- I don’t think I get to–” but Martin interrupts “You know what I meant.” Jon smiles sadly and says “Hm. I- yes. Tell you what: if I die, you can kill me.”

⚠️ TMA SPOILERS ⚠️ ft basira and daisy

[ID: Magnus Archives fanart of Daisy, Basira, and Jon in season four. Daisy is a white woman with cropped red hair, Basira is a Black hijabi, and Jon is a long-haired man.
1. Daisy, streaked with mud and with her hair in a long ponytail, says with a soft smile, “Hi.” Utterly shocked, Basira says, “Oh my god.”
2. Daisy, a tear in one eye, half-turns and snarls, “Run.” Basira half-reaches out a hand, looking distressed.
3. Daisy as a hulking, bipedal wolf monster with glowing eyes and thick red fur.
4-5. A lineart comic with red accents. Daisy, Jon, and Basira stand outside the Institute gates. Jon has multiple bags on him. Basira asks, “Martin kicked you out?” and Jon says, “That doesn’t sound like him.” Daisy says, arms crossed, “Yeah, well he was kind of a jerk.”
Daisy takes one of Jon’s bags, and he says, “Oh, thank you.” She replies, “No problem” as Basira frowns, “How weird…” Flatly, Daisy says, “Yeah, you know, I gotta say Jon– I don’t know what you see in him.”
Jon stares speechlessly, an exclamation mark trailing into an ellipsis, and then flusters hard, his shoulders jumping up and many exclamation marks popping up behind him. He exclaims, “H-how!?” Daisy raises an eyebrow and says, “Jon. I used to be a detective.” Jon, blushing, says, “R-right.” Basira grins.
The next page is titled “A few weeks earlier…” The three of them are in a bar, all with reddened cheeks, and Jon has the highest flush. He gathers the other two and says conspiratorially, “Can I tell you guys a secret?” Daisy smiles, “Ya,” and Basira frowns, “Uh…”
With all their faces pressed together, Jon closes his eyes and says with a softly shy expression, “I think I may have feelings for Martin…” He looks embarrassed and closes his eyes, raising a finger to his lips and cringing, “Please don’t tell! I know it’s unprofessional!” Daisy and Basira look delighted, Daisy especially looking thrilled as they point at each other. End ID]

there’s a bit in georgie’s mag 94 statement that I feel like helps explain some of her character that I haven’t seen anyone point out before. alex, her friend in her first year of university, is described as being very much in the melanie/jon vein of person: acerbic, angry, pointedly opinionated, and quick to take action. after she told georgie about what she saw in the medical science building, georgie says,
…I did what I felt was the only thing I could do in that situation. I told her I’d go with her if she wanted to take a second look. She didn’t, but we went anyway.
of course, this doesn’t end up helping at all. if anything, it made it worse, because it doesn’t look like alex was going to go back if georgie hadn’t offered. georgie felt all the help she could do in the situation was be a companion to alex, and that got alex killed and made georgie lose a year of her life to an emotionless void. I think the lesson she took away is that it’s worse for everyone involved if she tries to follow someone she cares about into a bad situation.
