Toying with an idea for my regency Repo! stuff, however it is something I would consider controversial. Which is really weird considering every other theme here is debatably worse. But I fear the hoes [my audience] wouldn’t appreciate this concept much. So idk. Currently, the plan is to just keep theorizing in my handy dandy notebook and if i get far enough where it comes down to a choice between this and something else, I may just do alternative versions, who knows.
As someone who’s not big into movies, I find it puzzling that everyone calls Repo! ‘objectively bad’. Did we watch the same movie? The only think about it that I could deem 'bad’ is the parts that are a little corny and sometimes the cinematography is very 2000’s music video, but I don’t think those things are objectively bad, I think they add to the atmosphere. It’s a little goofy sometimes, but it fits.
Made myself cry like four times last night talking about Nathan’s death in Repo!. I’m so ill. Him and Shilo being at odds the entire movie and the awful confrontation when she finds out he’s a repo man, and then when she finds out about his lies and is told that he was the one who killed Marni, he expects her to hate him for it and instead she cradles him gently as he dies and the last thing he hears is “Daddy, you’re the world to me.”. God damn.
