loved the christmas special, very silly, but let’s be honest with ourselves, if kayne wrote a malevolent special jarthur would not be platonic, that man is the biggest jarthur shipper I’ve ever seen
I’ve just finished the first Murderbot book and it’s very funny coming from Star Trek to this. In Star Trek you have androids and such actively campaigning for themselves to be considered full people with rights that deserve the same considerations as anyone else. Meanwhile in Murderbot all the humans are telling this guy that it’s a person with rights and it’s their friend and they like it and its response is basically
everyone. on christmas day, december 25th, we all search up “halloween” to make it a trending search. it would be the FUNNIEST thing ever to see halloween be a trending search on christmas day. tell all your friends, repost this, do everything you can to make sure we can do this. REBLOG AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.
everytime a mutual i have deemed a big blogger in my eyes reblogs a post i made i feel the exact emotion a kitten must feel when a person picks it up by the scruff to show off to other people
I mean the guy made a film about how awesome the guy who created the zero fighter was and how japan should take pride in that despite the fighter being used as a tool of Japanese imperialism. I’m not saying he is a nationalist but like it’s kinda obvious he still has stuff he needs to work on
The entire point of the movie, like, its whole message, was how the guy who created the zero fighter was a misguided artist who ended up causing more harm than good. His entire story follows him repeatedly ignoring signs of poverty and war and death and oppression to follow his dream of designing airplanes. The Wind Rises is not about how awesome this guy was, it’s about how selfish and complicate he was in a war he benefited from, despite his “goodness.” There’s literally a scene where his best friend calls this out. “Poor countries want airplanes. And they pay us a lot to design them. It’s ironic.”
The movie ends with the guy watching his zero fighter—the thing he’s been working on for the entire film—succeed. Everyone’s cheering, but he’s lost looking across the countryside of Japanese because he’s just realized he’s lost everything. His wife, his country, his passion. It’s not a victory, it’s a tragedy. The next scene is the bombing of Hiroshima as he walks amongst a graveyard of warplanes; his legacy. He watches his zero fighters fly away and sadly says, “Not a single one returned.”
Also, Japanese nationalists famously hated this movie.
Say it with me: acknowledging that problematic concepts exist is not the same as endorsing them. Showing uncomfortable scenarios in art is not the same as enjoying them in real life.
Miyazaki literally spends hours at a time saying “war and nationalism are bad” and people are trying to interpret that as “he mentioned war and nationalism, he must think they’re the best things ever”
Please vote for Hera. I’m just begging, I love her so much. She’s my favorite character of all time. If you’ve enjoyed this blog at all please considering voting for Hera. I will stop being sad that Adelaide & Hella didn’t make it to the finals of my Unscripted Bracket, that Dyre Ode lost to Garfield in Round 1 of my monstrous divine bracket, that Hella just narrowly lost in Round 1 of the Sword Gays bracket, and that her sword was easily eliminated in Round 1 of the Swords Bracket.
If you won’t do it for Hera, and you won’t do it for me, consider voting for her for fiction podcasts. Wouldn’t it be so cool if we won another tournament? Have we won an all-media tournament since the Tumblr Sexyman Rematch when Cecil beat Sans?
Finally, I am offering bribes. If Hera wins and you vote for her, I will run bonus polls on this blog that you request, complete with graphics. (Obviously I will have a specific tag for these posts, so other people can block them. Additionally I reserve the right to not make a poll I’m uncomfortable with.)
Sasha also survived by transforming into an avatar, an End avatar.
But with strong marks of the Spiral.
bc she was kidnapped by Michael right before Not!Them killed her
Although Not!Them took Sasha’s life for months.
All those months, Sasha was lost among Michael’s corridors, during that time she accepted her “death” and the fact that she no longer existed to anyone in the world.
(Michael, in the form of riddles and jokes, revealed what Not!Them had done)
Her acceptance gave way for The End to join her, preventing the Spiral from affecting more of her, but transforming her into an End avatar in the process.
She was rescued by Tim and Martin during the ending of MAG S2, but neither of them recognized her.
Then, she left the institute (her spiral marks broke the Eye ones, not even Elias knew that she returned) and began to investigate everything related to fears by herself, shortly after, she descovers the reality of the institute, and what it means to be the archivist. (or at least a part of it)
At the beginning of season 3, Melanie finds photos of the real Sasha and shows them to Tim.
in that moment, Tim and Martin realized she is the woman they saved from the Spiral’s corridors.
They tried to look for her, but they couldn’t.
On the other side, Sasha was looking for Jon.
She found Jon while Daisy was chasing after him. (MAG 91)
Jon KNOWS she was the Real Sasha just by seeing her (even though he doesn’t remember her)
And they all meet again when they go to face Elías.
(the key she has was given to her by Michael, a few weeks after leaving the corridors, as a “prize for surviving the spiral without going completely crazy”, with this Sasha can open doors that can take her anywhere she wants, That’s how she found Jon, although they can be tricky ;)
Extra:
(I’m going to post Jon and Martin’s designs, although they’re not very different from “"canon”“)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! 🎉
Some designs of the key that Michael gave to Sasha
