i feel like the tapes are like. connected to jon personally. maybe through some sort of time travel? but i def dont think theyre connected to any entities

I was subscribing heavily to the ‘tapes are jon’ theory but I was assuming it’d be through Beholding, which is why the tapes working in the No Entity Zone turned things upside down a bit…the idea that it could be through non-entity means is v intriguing, much to think about

(ok i know this is probably NOT what you meant lol but the time travel thing combined with the tapes still being Jon is making me picture a scenario where having tapes ends up being essential to saving the world so Future Jon is just running around after Present Jon and slipping tape recorders everywhere when he’s not looking. Like Jon and Martin are momentarily distracted by some idk, horrible torture going on, and while they’re looking away Future Jon jumps out from behind a bush and plants a tape recorder, etc, and I’m laughing)

wait ok I know I’m textposting a lot today and I’m sorry but I just thought of another question and I’m curious if anyone has any insight

ok so if no entities can operate in Salesa’s safehouse and being in there cut Jon off from Beholding, leading to the loss of powers and physical/mental degradation that forced him to leave, how come Annabelle’s ok?? Isn’t the Web holding her head together?? So unless I’m missing something, either the Web CAN operate in the safehouse, or Annabelle ISN’T as ok as she seems and is…hiding from the Web for some reason? Or has a bigger plan involving her being cut off temporarily?

I think Salesa's camera affords protection against all the powers but VERY SPECIFICALLY wards off the Eye. So other things like Annabelle and the Corruption monster Salesa mentioned can still benefit from their patrons but Jon is cut off from his.

ohhhh yeah that would make sense, especially considering that I’m pretty sure the camera was described as being broken back in the ep where Salesa first got it which is, now that im thinking about it, pretty clear symbolism for vision not working. Thanks!!
