Don’t bother reading My Antonia
Anyone who’s followed me for a while knows my absolute hatred for that book. It is, by far, the most boring book I’ve ever read in my life.
It’s about this kid named Jim I think, and he moves to a farm in Nebraska. Half of the book is describing fields and the other half is Jim talking about assorted stories about things that happened to his friends.
Not things that happened to him.
Not even things that he witnessed.
He’s just like “hey readers, lemme tell you about this one time the craziest thing happened to my friend Lena! Oh man it sure was crazy!”
And having stories constantly told from that viewpoint gets really boring really quickly
