hamlet vs king lear

the one where everyone is not paranoid enough and the one where everyone is overly paranoid

#in hamlet people are just running towards death at full speed #putting themselves directly in the line of danger #in king lear there's literally no danger in 1.1 #nothing bad is already at play from the begining #but lear can't be normal about his daughters and gloucester can't be normal about his sons #and their doubt and paranoia create 100% of the problems #did edmund create the problems? ehhh barely. #he keeps reasurring gloucester that edgar definitely didn't write it. and even if he did it was just as a test. #gloucester's really out here insisting that the worst case scenario (a very unlikely scenario.) must be the one unfolding before him. #hamlet #king lear #shakespeare 19 notes
