Oh I don’t know. The number of protagonists by American authors named John or Jack is staggering.
true, john and jack are commonly used by american authors
but I can’t think of any author who:
–claims to not be american
–writes about multiple american characters
–and names most of them john
him being from ancient rome would explain his fixation on italy and explain why he’s so much better at latin names than italian ones.
