OK I gotta make a list of the tropes that I love/ things that I love to see in stories

the trope of a character being a really polite person but secretly a murderer/antagonist of some sort?

That thing where a character gets kidnapped by a character and the others characters have to go rescue him?

The thing where a character thinks they’re fighting a certain antagonist the whole time but PLOT TWIST the true antagonist was a character they trusted the whole time (which is kinda similar to the first one, I guess)

The thing where a character knows something that the other characters dont (but the audience knows it too) and that character constantly makes puns/jokes about it that the other characters don’t notice

The thing where one character accidentally reveals a secret about themselves but no one else catches on, or alternatively- where a character is trying to keep something a secret (ie- “oh man I sure hope no one finds out I robbed that bank)- but the other characters already know about it.

Where two characters have entirely opposite opinions of each other, but don’t know/ don’t care that the other character doesn’t feel the same way (ie “I thought we were enemies!” “Well I thought we were friends!”)

When a really average-seeming side character is actually super important to the plot

Literally any and all false identities

Especially if they get super rich/super powerful/super important and then change their identity

REVENGE!!

(yeah I know I’m describing the Count of Monte Cristo at this point)

But more specifically, revenge on their evil relatives-especially when other characters also hate said relative- because since they’re related, they get first dibs on revenge

(Yeah I’m also describing Benedetto I guess)

When one character goes on a long monologue about how he’s gonna win, and while he’s talking another character wins

When characters do absurd things just out of spite/ just to prove people wrong

(I’ll either delete this or post a part two- it can go either way)
