can we talk about othello from cassio’s pov

how everything is normal and he’s doing his job. and losing his job (for reasonable reasons, to be fair), and trying to get his job back

and then some guy attacks him, but he’s a soldier and he holds his own pretty well. He gets injured but it’s fine, it’s not fatal.

and then he finds out that the whole thing was a deliberate plot to kill him, arranged by his two close friends

one of which he was hanging out with very frequently and just had a whole conversation with about his personal love life a few hours ago

hard4softthings:

I love seeing people go insane over their ugly little men like, I get it. I have an ugly little man too except he’s hot and beautiful and pretty

“othello in hamlet, hamlet in othello” etc etc

except othello wouldn’t do any better in hamlet than hamlet did

othello very much does wait to receive more information. othello doesn’t act until he’s positive he’s got definitive proof of desdemona and cassio’s guilt

othello gets sick of iago’s “maybe they’re cheating, maybe they’re not” SO quickly and threatens to kill him if he doesn’t show some form of proof of his accusations and suspicions

if othello were in hamlet, he’d tell off the ghost for saying things with no evidence to back it up.

Hamlet would do great in Othello though, because his wife would divorce him for being a little bitch far before the plot started

anon I love you with my whole heart and soul

julius caesar and othello, but we’re swapping caesar and mark antony with othello and cassio

is this anything

Characters in Shakespeare who canonically sing:

–Iago

–Edmund (if you count “fa so la mi” to mean ‘singing to himself’)

Characters in Shakespeare who don’t canonically sing, but should:

–Hamlet

the shakespeare villains are really out here respecting women so much more than the protagonists ever could

hamlet style justice system

whenever you do something sketchy they make you watch a play where actors reenact what you did. if you react, you’re declared guilty

if edmund’s mother was just mentioned 2 or 3 more times she would haunt the narrative. unfortunately she’s only mentioned in act 1. but can you imagine.
