For some reason the TCOMC fandom on here has been slowly growing over the past few days. I’m not sure why but hey at least I’m not alone here anymore

You all have no excuse now- go read it.
(Also @eddisfargo you can check how to spell chapter names now if you want to- though tbh you’re pretty good at spelling them even without seeing them)
I look around the people currently active in the TCOMC fandom and all I see are like 5 different accounts obsessing over Villefort.
Like look, I get it- corrupt politicians are cool to some people- but if the King Lear fandom were to ever read TCOMC, all the people from there obsessing over Edmund of Gloucester would be obsessing over Benedetto and you’d be outnumbered
So yeah I’m just gonna patiently wait for that to happen
Evereyone, about Hermine: wow, Ben’s cheating on Mikaela again.
Chateau-Renaud: GUYS. ALASKA RHYMES WITH NEBRASKA.
Any of the antagonists: As everyone knows, I’m secretly the world’s most evil criminal
Franz after the drug cave incident: It was all a dream? Nah, it was all a hallucination.
Caderousse: *chanting* SALT! IT’S SALT! AND HERE’S WHAT NO ONE KNOW! WE’LL USE THE SALT TO DO ASSAULT AND POUR IT UP YOUR NOSE!
Benedetto at his trial: It’s me, your local non-existent ghost.
Albert: Ok so I was kidnapped like maybe… 12 times today?
Also Albert: Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a complete idiot
Eugenie, while chopping off her hair to disguise herself as a boy: You just don’t know the absolute STRUGGLE of curly hair. You just. Don’t. Know.
(I had SO MANY MORE, but I had to delete them because I had no idea which character they would fit with. It was truly tragic. It was very sad. Alexa, play despacito.)
Can I just say. Edmund from King Lear and Benedetto from TCOMC are the same person, just put in different situations.
No kidding. It’s true. Lemme prove it.
Ok let’s start with Edmund. If instead of raising him to whatever extent Gloucester raised him, Gloucester would have been like “whoops this kid sure is a mistake that could potentially be bad for my reputation!” And tried to kill him when he was an infant to cover his tracks, we’d literally just end up with Benedetto instead of Edmund. Are you gonna tell me that if Edmund survives and finds out about that whole attempted murder thing he wouldn’t go find Gloucester and publicly be like “yeah so that guy’s my dad. Also he tried to kill me because he was scared that having a kid out of wedlock might ruin his reputation. Well how’s your reputation looking now, dad?”
And now onto Benedetto. If instead of trying to kill him, Villefort left him alive and raised him with Valentine, he totally would have become salty that Valentine was favored above him and he would definitely not like that Valentine is getting all the inheritance money. So of course he’d pull the same thing Edmund pulled, ie. telling Valentine something like “oh no dad is just soooo mad at you! You gotta leave immediately!” And he’d have no trouble forging a letter from Valentine that says “I sure hate dad!” (After all, he’s literally a counterfeiter.) Villefort would believe it right away, (after all, he believed Dr. D’avrigny (or whatever his name was) that Valentine was the killer) and that would be that.
In conclusion- Benedetto=Edmund and Edmund=Benedetto
So that’s that.
