yeah i’m scared of jon or martin dying but what scares me even MORE is thinking about how ppl will try to call jonny sims homophobic if they die
quick reminders as we get deeper into the season:
- this is a horror tragedy podcast, it has always been marketed as a horror tragedy podcast, and i mean this in the most compassionate way possible: if you are not prepared to emotionally deal with characters you like dying, you should not be listening to this show
- it’s only “bury your gays” if 1) the only characters who die are queer, and/or 2) the only queer characters die while a large number of cishet characters live. neither of those would be true, so it wouldn’t be bury your gays. we can’t say “no queer characters can ever die ever” because then we’re inherently saying “tragedy/horror shows should never have queer characters”, which i’m not ok with!
- jonny sims is not straight
if jon or martin die, PLEASE do not start saying that jonny sims is homophobic or whatever. by all means, continue to call out the actual issues in TMA, but don’t make an issue where there is none
