By the time cars were invented, Jonah Magnus was already well into the body hopping game, which raises the question: has he ever actually learn to drive? Did this man sit through driver’s ed? Or has he just been getting out of legal repercussions for his shit driving by telling the cops everything he knows about their deepest darkest secrets every time he gets pulled over?
I do think he takes the tube because, come on, it’s London, but I also believe he would’ve 100% learned how to drive, at least out of curiosity. With regards to the tags of the post, he… doesn’t strike me as pretentious? Jon does explicitly describe him as “austere” in season one, so I don’t think he cares for luxury for its own sake.
I think he’d learn to drive too, and learn to do it well so he didn’t prematurely kill himself on the road. Frankly, he’s probably a better driver than most people given his cumulative experience, and he might have some misgivings about other people driving him around because they wouldn’t have the same degree of experience as him. I can definitely see him taking the tube, though; it’s one of the safest methods of travel and he (generally) doesn’t have to worry about either getting a bad driver or sharing the road with incompetents. That’s my take anyway.
He definitely doesn’t strike me as pretentious either! I’m not sure where fandom gets that, actually. The guy has been happily working in an office for most of his life and subjected himself to prison for over a year; I don’t think luxury is a huge concern to him.
