Summary: Martin liked to think he possessed a decent grasp of social etiquette. ‘Polite’ was one of the first words people reached for when describing him (he suspected the other first words were less flattering), and his good manners had often been remarked upon in report cards and performance reviews. Unfortunately, anything he’d ever learned about appropriate behaviour seemed to fly out the window with Peter Lukas.
Notes: Martin gets something good out of working for Peter, like he deserves.
Elias proposes he and Peter play pool for a bet just so he can watch Peter do this:

Summary: “I’m sorry,” said Peter. “I think I misheard you, Martin. You won’t help save the world?”
Martin sighed, heavy and long-suffering. He was always short on patience when it came to Peter, and Peter had made little effort to alleviate that feeling.
Note: The PeterMartin thoughts continue.

There he is.

Elias’ kittens. :)

Old thing I never posted bc I didn’t like how it turned out, but I might as well!
Summary: The first time he wore a dress, he was seven. His sister, Judith, had just been ousted from the family and he had decided to pick through what belongings she hadn’t had the time to stuff into a suitcase. He’d always been fond of her long, black dresses; how they undulated like waves in the wind, and he intended to add them to his own wardrobe.
Peter likes to wear pretty things. Other people also like him wearing pretty things.
Note: I’ve had this in my drafts for a while, so enjoy! There’s more LonelyEyes and PeterMartin to come!
Discovered something interesting today! I usually just have Peter clean shaven because I hc he doesn’t like how facial hair feels, especially while at sea. But it turns out a lot of ships don’t allow beards because fires, explosions, sinking, etc are actually… a lot more common on ships than you would think, especially cargo ships, and the SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) can’t seal properly over beards. So now I have another angle for that hc.
Piracy is also way more common a problem for cargo ships than I expected. If pirates ever attempted to hijack/steal from Peter’s ship, I suspect the Lonely was well-fed that day.
Edit: Looking more into this, and SCBA have a service life of 15 to 30 years, so the ones on Peter’s ship are probably old, like the lifeboats, but still serviceable. I imagine Tadeas would replace them when necessary instead of leaving everyone to potentially drown/asphyxiate during a Maritime accident.
Also re: the lifeboats, I don’t know if they’re an aesthetic choice for Peter or he/his uncle just never bothered updating them on the Tundra. The aesthetic thing would be very funny and kind of appropriate considering the way his family is (dramatic creepy weirdos), but I can also see him just not bothering to update the lifeboats once he received a ship because he’s not very safety-conscious. Fortunately, Tadeas makes sure the ship isn’t completely without safety measures.
Considering how reliant Peter is on Tadeas to have the Tundra functioning smoothly, it would be really funny if Tadeas got sick and everyone turned to Peter to run the ship. But Peter doesn’t actually know how to run a ship because the only captain duty he performs is finding new victims crew members, so he just awkwardly locks himself in his cabin and refuses to come out.
