I wish I had the words to articulate how much and why I love the episode descriptions of the Magnus Archives, especially in the early seasons. I have such a distinct memory of the time when I had first decided I was going to listen to this podcast, and as I was downloading some episodes from season 1 I saw:

“Case #0161203

Statement of Martin Blackwood, archival assistant at the Magnus Institute, London, regarding a close encounter with something he believes to have once been Jane Prentiss.”

And I just knew, then, that I was going to love this show. It was so ominous and intriguing and SPOOKY. There’s something else to it - the way it blends academic detachment with supernatural horror, the intersection of the mundane and the horrific - but I don’t really know how to explain it. All I know is reading the episode descriptions always gave me goosebumps when I first started listening to TMA, and I find them really nostalgic now.
