I like the idea of someone reading my fanfic and going, “Well, clearly the author is mentioning how pretty Jon’s eyes are for the 15th time because of the Thematic Relevance of eyes to the world of the Magnus Archives,” and then reading my original fiction and going, “Oh, okay. You just like eyes.”
