Martins time in the lonely ALWAYS BREAKS ME. the way you draw Jon so hesitant kills me. The way he says “I thought you might be lost” when Martin asks him why he’s here always guts me. It’s so soft
he is a very insecure and very sad and very wet cat 🥹
LONELY ARC KNOCKS ME DOWN, WRECKS ME, SNAPS ME IN HALF- am doing air flips.
I love all the acting choices David and Micheal made for their characters but one I’m especially obsessed with (and frankly I don’t see it being talked about enough) is the body language/posture.
David took one look at Crowley and decided this boy is Bouncy™. He has cooked spaghetti for bones. Ninety percent of his walking is done by his shoulders actually. He might be man-shaped but he’s actually a liquid constantly changing form to fully fill the container (chair) he’s in.
Meanwhile Michael went - We’ll he’s an angel, of course he’s prim and proper and carefully put-together. He has the posture and grace of a classically trained dancer. There is also One Million Bees under his skin at any given moment.
And they were so right.
And on top of this, how their bodies react to each other - Aziraphale becomes silly and free, letting go of the forced-stiffness he’s had to impose upon himself to survive Heaven all these years.
And Crowley became more still, more calm, less reactive/jumpy, because being around the angel (especially in the bookshop) is the only place he feels he can truly relax.
as it its in my nature, I have come very quickly to loving the idea of proper horror-looking-eldritch monster jon and I will be posting the doodles soon 🧡

my graphic design class is currently making a coloring book, and I've never been one for line art, but seeing the way your sketches/lines look in your art, I love the way you do them and I'd love to try and use bit of it as reference for my own work in this class. would you have any sketches or lineart on hand that I could look at as reference?

I’m like, one of the worst ppl to ask about line art tho bahaha I sometimes start with a shape, colors, and then do sketch or a “line art”, at the very end
I do tend to seek inspiration in 2d animation stills? I just pause my fav series and analyze shapes, maybe that will help 🧡

SO I TRIED, to make a Martin-monster menacing, but every time I was thinking of FOG creatures, it was just something blobish, not quiet there, blurry edges. He looks more like a ghibli fellow than an eldritch horror skskss. Might explore more later. Now they lookin cute 🥹

I think the Martin-monster design is pretty menacing in the way that it feels immovable like how depression can often feel immovable, if that makes sense
Also I think that the juxtaposition in shape language between “rounded blobbish shapes associated with friendliness” and “loneliness monster that is blobbish” can prove another layer of horror on its own. Like how you expect this creature to be comforting, or at least not a danger, but its actually a quiet danger that gains the victim’s trust before doing damage. Like how Mag 48: Lost in a Crowd had the Lonely be a source of comfort for Andrea Nunis before traumatising her
