I really wanted to add to Martins design some visible mark form The Lonely. Some kind of scar, like Jon is marked (many times (he’s like a used chew toy, look at him). So with the loneliness, in my mind, a cold feeling, to the point of numbness (the COLD fog, the COLD uncaring ocean, etc.) I thought frostbite. Not the black sort, but a blue-ish scars on his hands. Forever deprived of sensation. I guess his hair was all white, but it receded a bit, after leaving The Lonely.
