Just listened to episode 69 of The Sheridan Tapes. Rob and Bill decided to leave, which I’m sure ISHPA will be completely fine and cool with.
I’m kinda wondering if Jerry even managed to leave, ISHPA not as bad as Morrison, but they definitely seem like the type to keep him so he doesn’t tell anyone about them, wouldn’t want to “jeopardize the mission” or something.
We all know Jon’s “you don’t sound Russian?” But what about his almost disappointed “oh…” when Michael said he wasn’t there to kill him? Or how his response to “I’ll break every bone in your body” was “there are worse things that can happen to them.” Ignoring the fact that Jon decided to trade one of his ribs for a statement, his response to said statement was that it was “Hardly worth a rib.”
So in episode 98 I’m confused about the reason why Sam can’t leave the source with Anna like he did before. He says he astral projected last times so he could go back to where his body was back in the world, and this time it would make them go back to Morrison in the tunnels because that’s the last place they both were physically.
Didn’t he and Ned at some point physically appear in different places than when they started after entering the source? Ned ended up a bunch of years in the future and in the US instead of Europe and Sam ended up buried underground instead of back in Meriwether. So why can’t he just exit wherever physically without coming back to Morrison in the tunnels? This is all so confusing
So, I just finished this episode. And I might be completely wrong, but here’s my understanding of it:
When you go into the Source, you astral project and your body acts as an anchor, you can return to your anchor(body) anytime.* However, if you exit the Source somewhere else (e.g. the doors or through the veil) you essentially hoist your anchor (body) up and take it with you wherever you exit. So, if you want to get to a certain place and/or time you need a different anchor, a connection.
When Sam first went into the Source, looking for Molly, he had his body as an anchor and used his emotions(connection) to find Molly. Then when he leaves the Source, to me it sounded like Molly pushed him out, he ends up buried, taking his anchor(body) with him. He only managed to get back to Meriwether because his patron(?) sent him back.
When Ned first went into the Source, it’s the same as Sam. He was just lucky he landed in, most likely, the same universe. He never goes back to where his body was when he originally went into the source.
When Sam and Ned went in to get Bill and Rob, both their anchors(bodies) were at Jerry’s; so they probably both followed the pull of their anchor(body) but also thought of Jerry and his home for extra anchors(connection) for Bill and Rob.
When Sam goes into the Source for Anna, it’s like this
Sam leaves his anchor(body) at Agate Shore with Kate and the others
He uses the Echo’s connection to Anna to find the moment she would have died
He leaves the Source to collect Anna, bringing his anchor(body) with him
He and Anna go back into the Source, both of their anchors(bodies) are in the tunnels
They find Amy, and Amy pushes Sam out of the Source, into Oslow
Sam’s anchor(body) is now in Oslow, for months, he hops into the Source looking for Anna, always returning to his anchor(body)
So, Sam and Anna are stuck in the Source because Sam no longer has his anchor(body) at Agate Shore with Kate and the others. They technically could leave the Source, but they would have no way of controlling where and/or when they come out.

Before working on this, I honestly never gave much thought to the dates, so here are some things I noticed:
This might be me, but I didn’t realize that “A Guest for Mr. Spider” is only two days after the brutal pipe murder and also the same day as Daisy’s interrogations.
The entirety of season 2 takes place within ~6 months~
Episode 85, Upon the Stair, the case number is #376-U. Which I am guessing means that it is the three hundred and seventy sixth statement with an unknown date.
So far, only Gertrude gives the day the statement was originally given and the day she recorded it on tape.
Martin, so far, does not give a synopsis of the statement, but he does say the case file’s number.
I’m fairly sure that some of the case files are wrong. So far, there’s:
Episode 30, Killing Floor, the case number is #0130111, which would be November 1, 2013, but Jon says that the statement was given September 1, 2013, so it would be #0130109.
Episode 39 and 40, Infestation and Human Remains, the case numbers are #0160729-A and #0160729-B respectively, but it should be #0162907-A and #0162907.-B
Again,episode 43, Section 31, is numbered #0160919 when it should be #0161909.
Episode 46, Literary Heights, is #9981221, when it should be #9982112.
Episode 48, Lost in the Crowd, is #0100325, it should be #0102503.
Episodes 79 and 80, Hide and Seek and Librarian, are #0170216-A and #0170216-B respectively, but should be #0171602-A and #0171602-B.
Episode 98, Lights Out, is #8640514, it should be #8641405.

Okay, I had this locked for a bit, but I added a new category.
There is now a 4th sheet, you can filter every episode a certain character has spoken in. If a character has spoken in only one episode they are added to the “One-Time Character” filter, if they are in any more than one episode, even if it’s only two, they get their own filter.
(Let me know if I made any mistakes, especially with the new category, the text color was being a bit difficult.)
I am working on two more categories, one for what Fears are in them and one for notable characters or objects, but those will take a lot longer to do because I have to actually listen through the episodes or fully read the transcripts.
