What’s something that you’re inordinately proud about? like it’s not at all important and almost nobody would care at all, (and other’s have definitely done it better than you) but is something you take pride in?
Mine is beating Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. (Also almost beating Riku [Ansem-Riku] at level 40 or something with the Kingdom Key when I was like 9)

I’ve been really into Epic: The Musical lately, so here are some of my thoughts:
I keep wondering why during “Puppeteer” there’s not the rhyme of “wine” and “swine”, because I think it was the wine specifically that turned them to pigs.
Was confused for a bit cause I thought Jorge also voiced Telemachus.
Cannot think of what, but the part in “Polyphemus” where it’s like “a gift from you and a gift from me” the tune(?, I know nothing about music) reminds me of something.
Half the plot wouldn’t have happened if they were just vegan.
As many have said, if I was Odysseus I would have gone on a murderous rampage after the crew opened the bag. He literally told them what was in it! Why would they do that? Especially like, 200 ft away from home?!
Also, Odysseus should have maybe hid the bag so he could sleep, or put it under his clothes or something. Maybe hug it like a body pillow if it’s really big.
Also, I don’t really think Polites is a pacifist exactly, but I also kinda wonder if he was more of a medic rather than a fighter. Cause I’m honestly a little surprised that he’s not Odysseus’s second-in-command. Although, I can also see that he might not be the best fit for that role.
Like, I definitely think Polites is a very skilled fighter, it would have been questioned more for just the two of them to go if not, but I also don’t think he enjoys almost any aspect of war.
Also I get really sad if I think about Polites too much, should have known that he would die, cause I immediately liked him.
Also get really sad for Odysseus too. (end of “Love in Paradise” gets me every time.)
I honestly don’t feel that sad for Eurylochus, I understand where he’s coming from and it is sad, but a lot of the bad things that happen to him is kinda his fault. I do still like him though.
I also keep wondering why the cyclops doesn’t just say that a human hurt him, why did he feel the need to use a name?
I had a dream where Odysseus decides not to kill the infant, and instead gave it to Polites to raise.
Also where did Polites’s headband come from? And the glasses? Cause I honestly was thinking he has really good eyesight, for some reason I imagine him using a bow and arrow, also he was the one to spot the island.
The music is truly top tier, literally every single one’s amazing.
I got really in to watching Jorge’s videos about the process.
My Epic: The Musical brainrot is in full force, I’m having dreams about it. (something I rarely even get for TMA.)
Anyways, I had a dream the other night where Polites was a siren, a bird siren, and he landed on Odysseus’s ship, although Odysseus wasn’t the captain, and they were both pretty young.
So, Polites is like “hello there, friends, I am but a humble stowaway, please have mercy” and the nameless captain and crew are ready to accept that, but then Odysseus is like “wait, you’re a siren” and holds a knife to Polites’s throat and threatens him.
I forget some of it, but it ended up being that Polites was tired of killing humans and the other sirens didn’t like that and injured him, so that’s why he hid on their ship, and then he and Odysseus become best friends.
Also, I thought Polites’s siren design was cool, I can’t draw, but the best I can describe it was that he had digitigrade bird legs, wings on his back, but also feathers on his arm that could smooth down and look more human. He also could somehow just look human, I don’t know how, just dream logic or siren magic or something.
Could you imagine the vibes on that boat after Odysseus’ crew go against his word and open the bag sending them all the way back to where they started near enough…
I like to think there was a moment somewhat like this
Do you think that when Odysseus finally gets back home to Penelope, he’s gonna be all “I’m a monster, I did so many horrible things” and Penelope is going to comfort him and tell him that he’s not a monster, he’s just a man.
It’s kinda funny that “Open Arms” and “Ruthlessness,” two big themes (?, whatever you want to call it.) of Epic, are both sang by someone named Steven.
I’ve seen that Eurylochus is actually Odysseus’s brother-in-law, and I’ve seen posts about when Odysseus finally gets home and having to tell his sister what happened to her husband and all that.
But what I keep thinking about is how in “Mutiny” Odysseus has the line “…brother, you know you’d have done the same.” Do you think he’s thinking about his sister? Like is he mad that Eurylochus isn’t willing to do anything to get back to Ctimene (I think that’s how that’s spelled.)
Epic Odysseus is obviously a family man, so I feel like while he does care about his crew, he cares more about his family, including his sister. Meanwhile, Eurylochus seems like he cares more for the crew, like obviously he wants to go home, but he isn’t willing to sacrifice any crewmen. (Not saying either one is more right than the other, I totally understand both sides.)
Anyway, I just keep thinking about Odysseus being pretty upset and mad at Eurylochus about that, like “how dare he not be willing to do anything to get back to his wife. I threw my humanity (and an infant) away for my wife, I sacrificed my friends for my wife, I would do literally anything to get home to her. How can he not understand that, how dare he not do the same for my sister.”
