One argument that , I think, Martin had about how the other realities weren’t necessarily doomed was because it would be like their world before the Change, and I mentioned how that was stupid, because their world before was still full of horrors, it was just fewer and hidden. And I honestly get irrationally mad about it because he’s worked for the Magnus Institute, he read so many stories of people’s lives getting ruined, his own boyfriend has been haunted by these things since he was a child. How can he possibly say that their world was fine?

Martin’s first encounter was when he was an adult, like 28-29.

Melanie’s first encounter was when she was an adult.

Basira’s first encounter was when she was an adult.

Georgie’s first encounter was when she was an adult, probably young, but still technically an adult.

Jon’s first encounter was when he was eight.

Of course Jon doesn’t want to pass the entities on to other worlds, he was a child when he first encountered these things, and it ruined his life. He never got over it, he got a job at a paranormal research institute because he couldn’t get over what happened 15 year before, he got eaten by worms, he got stabbed, he lost his friend, he got framed for murder, he got third degree burns, he got thrown off a building (unclear), he got taken out to get shot in the woods, he got kidnapped, he got forcibly moisturized for a month, he found out he’s not entirely human anymore, he got kidnapped again (America edition), he died, he lost his friend, he lost six (6) months of his life, he lost his friend, he got stabbed, he got his ribs torn out of his body, he spent three days getting crushed, he was told he was a monster and would be put down if he stepped out of line, he almost lost one of the last people that cared about him, he got manipulated into starting an apocalypse.

All of these things happened before the Change, but sure, I guess it wasn’t so bad before.
