it’s so cathartic, about how the stuff that happens to you as a kid breaks you down over time and that healing is slow but possible
it is such a sweet and loving show about living a good life surrounded by people after surviving a scary, lonely adolescence.
also nyanko-sensei is the best deconstruction of a mascot character that I’ve ever seen. mascot character who is an alcoholic. mascot character who doubles as a father figure to the protagonist. who else is doing it like natsume yuujinchou
