Now that I’m set on doing a whole series of this, I decided to change a bunch of things about shading and shape language to help things read better with multiple characters running around and generally make it easier to draw. I’ll eventually go back and redo the first page to look like this.

I’m doing well! Not a terribly exciting day in the grand scheme of things, but that’s rather nice at times, yeah? How are things going on your end?
Ah, poor ASL. I am, if we define “learning” as occasionally watching Bill Vicars vids and running through flashcards. I’d love to be fluent too, but between a general difficulty learning new languages and a very casual approach to study, I won’t be getting there anytime soon. I’d love to pick up classes again someday, pandemic and finances permitting.
Monster Pig! He’s a hard one to beat. However, I do have a soft spot for Peter Lukas. Idk if I’d argue he’s the best written avatar, but he’s definitely one of the most entertaining imo. His entire season 4 antagonism being based on a petty bet? His complicated ritual undone by Gertrude tipping off a newspaper? Helping to finance a space station that succeeded in torturing one - ONE - person and creating a dark sun that Jon destroyed by basically looking at it and going, “Pretty!”? He named is ritual The Silence not because he had some deep meaning to impart, oh no, it just maybe needed a name so… why not that? Peter is so hilariously inept. I mean, he’s fascinating and tragic and a number of other things too, but I always come back to how unintentionally funny he is (very much helped along by the fandom’s Lonely Eyes content).
Also, Peter manages to sum up 85% of the story up in one sentence: “Then – of course – Gertrude Robinson happened.”
Gertrude Robinson is inevitable and I, for one, love her for that.
