i will never run out of unhinged rants about this but do u actually know the kind of strength necessary to bludgeon a man to death? idc how heavy the metal pipe is, killing someone through repeated blunt force trauma takes a significant level of resolve and physical strength to accomplish. that is a cold, iron willed, terrifying thing to be able to do. especially on a whim because the man whose head you’re beating into a paste got slightly in your way a bit.
There’s no indication that Elias was NOT sitting in his chair for the majority of mag92 only to stand up and stand in front of his desk once he was alone with Jon. That during the “Elias am I still human?” scene after the “you still bleed” Jon didn’t touch his neck without thinking and didn’t get some drying blood on his hand only to then stare at it. That Elias didn’t, without looking his way, seemingly absent-mindedly gently wrap his hand around Jon’s wrist and pull it down to ground him, while making it appear as if it was an act of feigned kindness that should never be acknowledged.

I do have a weakness for the scarce moments of complicity we glimpse in the show. I wish we could have seen Jon realise that understanding Elias is both possible and inevitable to him because they are the same… and Jon would hate himself about it afterward, but that doesn’t change much now, does it?
Theories about OG Elias having any kind of agency over Jonah’s actions are so dumb to me, especially considering how often he emphasises that he does things because he wishes to. If he had another consciousness in his body battling for control, it would be relevant to his character. It wouldn’t be a tee-hee offscreen thing.
And it genuinely pisses me off when it’s not merely an urge that he ignores but something that actually slips out. You can tell that he puts a huge amount of thought into the words he chooses and he savours them as he articulates them. OG Elias-isms wouldn’t just “slip out”.

this may be because i’m aroace but i get a bit bored by ships that have a stable, explicitly canon and romantic relationship that involves a stereotypical view of dating and love. i need them to be inextricably linked, metaphysically entangled, two sides of the same coin, foils who bring out the best and worst in each other, so deranged and obsessive that they actively harm others around them. equals with opposing goals that may or may not ever align and a connection that transcends physicality and simple definition. it’s especially fascinating when they blur the lines between devotion and resentment, or just flat out combine them. when they each define themselves by the other’s absence, when there’s some sort of unforgivable rift or a past betrayal or a conflict where they are both at fault, when they detest each other so much they can’t be content together and can’t be content apart, when they’re each the only ones that truly see and understand each other despite the animosity between them. when they both find an equal in each other but instead of joining each other and building a stable relationship or alliance they spiral into some sort of unsettlingly intimate mutually assured destruction. when a character who considers themselves monstrous grows obsessed with and devoted to the monstrosity they helped cultivate and bring out in or can see in another. when there’s religious devotion and imagery, or cannibalism and consumption of flesh, mind melding, body sharing, symbiosis, some sort of mental link, or an understanding of each other so great it honestly doesn’t make a lot of rational sense. when the lines between them blur. it’s also great when they are fundamentally compatible as people and could be together in a different setting but in this one they end up appallingly destructive and codependent and devoted in a way that could never be understood by others or function in any sort of typical real life situation.
Do you ever think about the intimacy of having a secret name and how good it would feel to have someone call you by that secret and true name. Bc I just know if Jon called Elias “Jonah” he (jonah) would probably get so hard he’d pass out

it may be hypocritical of me to hate jonm.artin fics where martin is controlling or takes over doing things for jon while simultaneously enjoying that content in jonelias fics but,
fundamentally i think theyre treated very differently.
in jonmar.tin fics its since as the morally correct choice. jon is too dumb/self destructive/incapable and martin needs to swoop in and take care of him and take his autonomy away cause jon doesnt know what’s good for him
while in je fic its explicitly a *bad* thing. elias is seen as controlling and evil for doing this to jon
(this is not saying that there arent fics that treat martin as a antagonist for it i just am speaking very generally)
im not sure if jonm.artin fans genuinely think because their ship is ~wholesome~ that this behavior isnt controlling/abusive or if theyre just unaware that this behavior is… bad. it makes me not want to interact with that side of fandom cause theres no self awareness of the more wormy aspects of their content
maybe its because people into jonelias are already into that kind of fiction that theyre more aware when creating that content?
anyway i havent been able to open a jm fic recently where martin doesnt infantilize jon in a gross way to me and its why ive turned away from the ship nearly in its entirety
