Barnabas and the young gentleman he was handing his coat to, looked up in alarm as they both heard a yelp of shock. Barnabas felt a tight grip of fear in his heart that something terrible had happened to his dear friend, which was swiftly dismayed by the irritated swearing that came from the other man’s study. Jonah’s servant moved to check on his master, but Barnabas patted the other on his shoulder.“Do not worry yourself, I will check on him.” the other man nodded and moved to put his coat away while he made his way to Jonah’s study.
