i am LOSING. my MIND. like what do you MEANNNNNNNNN
(white. usually. presumably.) people will say the most bizarre shit and call it antiracism. ive only ever seen people depict jonathan archivist sims as hot on purpose (like??? hot jon rights???? hello?????) its your fault if you see a middle eastern man and think hes ugly. what. what. what
as a middle eastern person this is just. it feels so backhanded. i love seeing jon portrayed as west asian bc i feel like we dont get an overwhelming amount of positive rep ! to see people draw him as west asian and like him and think hes attractive is really validating. so this take is just… why do you think that.

Jon saying “That would be our Gerard” kills me every time because it’s probably the first time in Gerry’s life that he’s been claimed with affection instead of possession.

I think there’s quite a bit of parallel between Agnes Montague’s death and Jonathan Sims’s death in episode 200. Let me explain what I mean by comparing the lines about Agnes’s death to what happens to Jon:
“But if she ceased, not in cumulation of fire, but a cold and quiet death” - Jon did not go out in a spectacular fashion like you would assume the man who started the apocalypse would. He was not looked upon by The Eye, he was not drained of his power until there was nothing left, he was not consumed by fire, or rot, or darkness. He was simply stabbed. He taken down by the same thing that would that would take down any human.
“Perhaps her spark would return to the Lightless Flame and she could try again” - Before Martin stabs him, Jon mentions that maybe they’ll go “somewhere else” where everything will work out. Then they’re presumably “returned” to The Eye as they are sucked up with the fears and (likely) sent away with them.
“So we hanged her, as she requested” - Martin stabbed Jon, as he requested.
“All because of that most insidious of emotion, hope” - When Martin asks Jon if he’s sure about sending them all away, Jon says, “No. But I love you.” Despite the struggle Jon has with his humanity all through out the seasons, he spends his last moments clinging to the hope that maybe, just maybe, he and Martin will get to end up together. In somewhere else where everything works out. It’s easy to argue that his hope is an insidious one when it drives him to sacrifice their lives to release the fears into another world, but it’s a hope, and that’s all that really matters to Jon in the end.
It doesn’t surprise me that there’s such an overlap between the death of Jon and Agnes. They were both avatar’s who were filled with doubt about their role in the world and decided to sacrifice themselves rather than continue down the path assigned to them. They were so, so, alike. I really wish they would have gotten the chance to meet.
post-canon somewhere-else jon whose stab scar radiates out from his heart and touches every one of his scars/entity marks and connects them like a web. is this anything
“Jon,” Tim says suddenly, puffs of grey still trailing from his lips, “Where do you keep your feelings?”
“My- feelings?” Jon echoes flatly, his own cigarette dangling between his fingers. The air is hazy with smoke, the stench of it curling lazily in his gut.
“You know,” Tim gestures vaguely, “your emotions- feelings- even you must have them, I’m sure.”
Jon steals a glance at his face, turning back at the slight quirk of his lips, an indication that Tim was joking. He takes another drag, whistling out the next exhale. Exasperated, he replies, “In my brain, I suppose? Isn’t that where all emotions originate?”
“Well, yes,” Tim says, “but you’re going about it too literally.”
“Was I not supposed to?”
“No. Not like that, at least. For example,” Tim puts the cigarette between his lips, takes a drag, and holds his breath. His cheeks puff out from the effort. After a few seconds, he releases his breath, smoke rolling out of his mouth like a creek. “I keep my happiness here, in my cheeks. When I smile, I feel it pulling. When I’m happy, it almost hurts.”
“Or–” Tim’s hand lowers, lightly patting his abdomen. Jon eyes the still lit cigarette nervously. “–I feel fear here, in my stomach. Sometimes I get so nervous I want to puke.”
He flicks his hand up again, staccato, stopping by the hollow of his throat. The tips of his fingers run over his adam’s apple, lightly tracing the skin of his neck as he swallows. His voice is significantly softer when he says, “I feel grief in my throat. It almost feels like choking.”
“And my anger,” he says, turning his hand over, fingers spread out and reaching, “I feel it in my palms, my fingers.” He closes it into a fist, hard enough that Jon can see his knuckles turn white. “Like lightning.”
Jon stares at his own hand thoughtfully, brow slightly furrowed. He says, haltingly, “Well- I suppose my happiness is in my hands,” lightly grazing his fingers over his palm, “they’ve their own mind sometimes.”
“And,” Jon taps his collarbone, expression still pinched in thought, “my sadness is in my lungs. Sometimes I can hardly breathe.” He huffs a quiet laugh, “Though that might just be all the smoking.”
His hand travels to his jaw, hovering before dropping to his side. “My anger is in my tongue, in my gritted teeth. The words fly out before I can reign them in.”
Tim snorts. “I can attest to that.”
Jon shoves a bony elbow into his side, pointedly ignoring the expletives that follow. His hand wavers in the air for a second, before he tucks it into himself, arms crossed and cigarette dangling from his fingertips. “I guess feel fear in my bones. They burrow into me, like- hm- a worm?”
“A worm.” Tim echoes, teasing. “You’ve got fear worms in you?”
“You asked.” Jon shoots back, face warm. “I’ve never tried to put it into words before. You know what I meant.”
“I guess I do,” Tim says, leaning back against the wall. His head knocks against the brick with a soft thump. He takes another drag of the cigarette and heaves out the smoke like putting out a fire.
- melanie tells jon he should just start using certain ones without warning (“it’ll make your messages seem nicer”) (she knows exactly what she is doing)
- the work group chat soon receives the text “See you all soon. :3” from jonathan sims and promptly has a stroke
in my head michael and gerry look pretty similar bar their hair colour and general aesthetics and i think that has really interesting implications gertrude-wise. look at this boy, the one you’re growing fond of. the one you set free. doesn’t he look quite like the one you lost? the one you sacrificed, who you used in quite a similar way as this one once was? you and her aren’t so different. is this enough to atone for what you’ve done?
What do you guys think of my Fear Entity junk journal series?! Obviously I think some came out better than others, but as a whole series, I’m very happy with it.
statement of jonathansimsbecoming regarding his birthday. statement given on the 21st of june 2025. statement begins Hello jon, apologies for the deception but i wanted to make sure you started reading so i thought best not to annou
God. What if Micheal had lived? Not, never fed to the Distortion but like. When the Spiral rejected him and Helen became the avatar, what if it just ripped itself out of him, and he collapsed into Jon’s arms, weak and shaking and half dead, just as he’d been before he and the Distortion became one. His hands are normal. His eyes are normal.
He can barely talk and Jon doesn’t know what to do but his heart wins out and he takes him to a hospital for treatment, and when Jon goes back to see him Micheal’s first, feeble, scared and confused and whispered words are, “Where’s Gerry? Do you know where he is? Is he okay?”
1.Incredible deep and detailed narrative themes. The parallels that seem to hit just right, the narrative foils that they can be to each other, the intricate dynamic that’s both extremely complex and easily understood. The juxtaposition between something that’s harsh and undoubtedly toxic, with the softer undertones, the parts where you read in-between the lines and find a mutual feeling of loneliness from both parts, their intrinsic understanding of each other comes from the mere fact that they’re each others mirrored reflections and shadows. In the end both sides will be together forever, and you as an audience can clearly see their tragedy laid out before in a path that blurs pure anguish and tender romance
I’ve seen this kind of Hematite before but reading those comments, yeah, it really does look like an item you’d get in Bloodbourne after fighting a boss
