The more Jonah thought about it, the more he was inclined to use ‘he'—appeared to have long, dark hair. The moonlight caught on the blade of the knife, shining a scant light on the man’s skin. It was darker than Jonah’s, brown in tone, and was barely visible as the space between all the eyes, a wickerwork made out of skin to hold them all.
