I have no idea what this is, but ever since @somuchbetterthanthat mentioned a secret, violent need for Elias/Jon/Martin, the idea has been stuck in my head and I needed to get it out. So here’s some fluffy, care-giving nonsense.

I am SO SORRY if the read more doesn’t work for anyone. This is far longer than it should be.

The sunlight scorches Jon’s retinas as he stumbles down the front steps of Moorland House. Martin is waiting for him at the car, expression tight with worry and looking so real that Jon could cry. Jon stops just in front of him, drinking in the sight of Martin, the red of his hair so vivid it hurts Jon’s eyes. Jon’s throat works, but he’s not quite able to form words.

“It’s all right,” Martin tells him, very softly. “You’re okay. We’re going home.”

hunger transcending the desire to eat

If Jon opens the door, he drowns.

So he waits and learns and listens, ignores the ever-growing itch at the base of his skull and the way that reading statements eases the itch temporarily. 

Then the walls come down on top of almost everyone he cares for in the Stranger’s illusory nightmare, and he doesn’t wake up for months. In his dreams, Jon wanders through mazes that don’t seem to belong to any single Power and he knows that he isn’t alone but he is so, so lonely.
