[TMA finale spoilers] Because i enjoy being miserable, imagine if melanie, georgie, and basira were still fucked over after the world returns due to their ties to the archives. The entire world fell victim to magnus’ plans. Even if it took a while to make the connection that the Institute was the source, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t eventually tied together by the governments of, again, the entire world, in a desire to figure out what happened and why and to avoid it happening again.

I can easily imagine ex-avatars ratting each other out and giving out whatever information keeps their heads on their shoulders, including calling out the Institute. And then it’s just a matter of finding who was employed and which of those people were involved… Obviously an incredibly unlikely scenario if everything is reduced to rubble (including any paper trails), but like…those three could absolutely be left in a world wanting someone to pay, and them being the closest living thing to that desire, and even if they’re safe due to destroyed evidence, they could be living out the rest of the unapocalypse in anxiety

Angry about the fact that Jon being tortured for a month was made out to be a joke and was essentially a reference to fucking Silence of the Lambs and that lovely transphobic bullshit again.

Hahahah isn’t it highLAIReous that he was gagged and tied up and moisturized and violated routinely for a month while no one knew or cared and when he comes back they bitch about him being gone instead of even talking about WHY he was gone and nah of course that doesn’t matter they’re too busy with their own shit. Isn’t it the peak of comedy that he ends that month by trying to go through a door that he knows will kill him, like the one that he was supposed to die at the hands of when he was EIGHT FUCKING YEARS OLD, cause it was preferable to the last month he suffered through!

I’m choking on my laughter. My side is splitting.

But yeah no he was fine!!! Totally had no lasting repercussions!!! He joked about his skin, the one that was going to be flensed, being healthier than ever and later joking with another set of kidnappers about being kidnapped a third time not too long after!!! It was totes chill, yo!!! Cause he was well on his way to being a monster by then so it didn’t really matter!!! In fact, you should probably add him being totally fine as a sign of his inhumanity!!! Ignore the trauma, it just gets in the way of the REAL story, which is how he’s gladly going to end the world cause he’s NOT NORMAL!!!

My interpretation of Jon regarding the Not! Sasha situation is that, on some level, he knew the entire time something had happened, but he purposefully looked away from it because didn’t want to face the truth.

While it’s said in canon that Jon trusts Sasha more than Tim and Martin and that’s why he’s willing to give her more passes, it’s also worth noting that Jon’s bar of trust is in hell. He says that he can’t trust anyone multiple times, and the quote “I may not entirely trust my assistants but I won’t lose them,” comes from a time frame where Jon is under the impression that Sasha is alive. By his own admission he doesn’t entirely trust her, and yet he’s willing to overlook things he’d try to exorcise Tim and Martin for.

And I don’t think that’s because Jon just randomly swings between being overly trusting and overly paranoid. Rather, I think he knew something had happened when Sasha came back without the tape recorder. Because think about it: Jon’s character could be summed up by his thirst for knowledge. Yet, when Sasha tells him that information about Prentiss’s attack was lost…he just accepts it. He doesn’t question it. He doesn’t look for the lost tapes. He doesn’t even keep an eye on her.

Overall it seems like he acts really out of character, and I think that’s because he is. For the first time in the series he doesn’t WANT to see something. He doesn’t want to know if something happened to Sasha in the evidence room, because if it did, it means he might have lost one of his assistants. And it’s as Jon says himself: He won’t lose them. Even if that means turning a blind eye.

So, yeah, I think Jon’s attitude in Season 2 of “Sasha threw a knife at me today. I’m sure it’s just because she’s practicing her aim” was out of subconscious denial of the truth instead of blind trust. Especially because it would be consistent with one other knowledge Jon turns away from…which is Gerry’s page. He burns it because he cares for the people around him more than knowledge itself when push comes to shove. And unfortunately in his case that’s a great motivator of ignoring a monster.

i still don’t get what tim’s fucking problem is in season 2 and 3 of the magnus archives. like it’s not unreasonable for him to be upset about shit, but i don’t understand how he continually makes this all jon’s fault, especially once everyone knows that jon was right to be suspicious of everyone in season 2. gertrude WAS murdered by someone there! sasha was replaced by a creature! all sorts of fucking plotting was going on! if he wants to be mad about this shit, fine, but i don’t understand how any of it is really jon’s fault, especially to the point that tim can’t even die without making sure jon knows he’s still mad first. jon offering tim an archival assistant job without knowing about any of the shit going on does not make every damn thing in the world his fault.
