i find it unsettling when people insist that jon deserved the way the others treated him. it’s usually dedicated fans of all the archival staff that were part of the Let’s Blame Jon For Everything club, and i get wanting to defend their favorites, but i see too many people excusing their actions entirely. it’s one thing to acknowledge that the other characters did make mistakes but had reasons for what they did, and it’s another to just say “well they didn’t do anything wrong because jon deserved it anyways.” He didn’t deserve that. Nobody deserved that kind of treatment. it comes across as victim blamey and weird.
