I love drawing and seeing artwork in which Elias is as Normal looking as possible, but with like… tiny hints to his Horrors. Piercing or slightly cloudy irises. Eye motifs via small accessories like cufflinks, tie clips, belts, socks, even shoe sole patterns and the arms of his glasses having engravings, or the pattern of the inline fabric of his blazer being made up of eyes/peacock feathers. The whole hiding in plain sight is SO Elias man
i find it crazy that these are the ONLY three eye avatars:
girl from the THIRD episode
the main character and
his evil boss
Had to do a little response bc there are more…ish.
Spoilers ahead of course (MAG 50 and onwards to MAG 160)
To start off, here are the peeps who are definitely avatars of The Eye. There’s the dude who got turned into security cameras (essentially lol) from MAG 148, Samson Stiller. And the archivist from the Library of Alexandria in MAG 53.
Of course Gertrude Robinson and Gerard Keay (although their connection, and the strength of their connection to The Eye as avatars has been debated, they’re still firmly in The Eye bit of the venn diagram).
Those up for speculation are Zhang Xiaoling from the Pu Songling research centre. Albert Von Closen, and the guy he stole the books from; Johann Von Württemberg. Alongside some archival assistants like Basira Hussain and Sasha James.
The thing with The Eye is that it’s not as “flashy” as the other fears, and what it does and how it manifests can often fall through the gaps
“Why are you so attached to The Eye?” Well, as an avid Bloodborne enjoyer it’s kind of in my job description to be as annoying as possible about this entity
Every time I see a joke about how Sasha “I like to staple archival documents together and meet up with inhuman monsters alone in deserted areas without telling anyone and casually violate my coworker’s privacy by hacking their files” James would have been a much more competent archivist than Jon and would have effortlessly seen through Elias’ lies because she is a flawless queen I sever approximately a dozen optic nerves from rolling my eyes so hard.
Seriously this is my supervillain origin story.
She would’ve been a more competent Archivist in that she’d have nose dived into eldritch power corruption even faster than Jon and burned out or been murdered within a year. Girl already had no brakes on the privacy violation train and no sense of self preservation whatsoever.
