April 2023

When I write my post-series not-elsewhere single-dad barista-Jon AU it’ll be over for you all.

This is a genuine question for anyone who can help.

SPOILERS FOR SEASON FIVE OF THE MAGNUS ARCHIVES

So… in what way does the Web’s plan actually make any sense? Like. It’s probably that I barely listened to any of season 5 and also only read through some episodes once but I’m currently under the impression that this was the Web’s logic.

Like. I had to have missed something, right? Some very important detail just passed me by. Cause I’m losing my mind trying to accept how any of season five or the Web being the puppeteer behind it all makes sense.

END SPOILERS

This is genuine confusion and wanting answers by the way. I’m almost positive I just completely blanked out and I’d like someone smarter to explain this, lol

I gotta be honest if some random guy approached me in the street and asked me to tell him my paranormal trauma I’d literally just tell him? Like he wouldn’t have to compel me I’d like to share. Free therapy for me, free story for him! Not my problem if it feeds an otherworldly overlord.

The assistants on a mission- only their limited attention span can stop them.

This comic almost got lost in the great laptop tragedy of 2023 but got rescued and now I finally finished it!

Okay, Jon saying: "Good Lord, that's Eric! >>MY<< - I mean Gerry's father" and then "How would you like it if someone tell you this about your dad" (and Sasha telling him Eric's not his dad) is making me super curious about Jon's background story in your Gertrude au! Sounds like Jon also sees/saw Eric as a father figure. Looking forward to find out more!^^ I love this au and your character designs!

occudo:

Is it okay to answer both of these asks with one comic?

its so weird to me the way parts of the fandom talk about 160. like jon “accidentally” ended the world, or was “manipulated” into it. like. bruh he was literally being mind controlled and wasnt able to move any of his limbs even tho he was audibly straining. he wasn’t “tricked,” as if he chose to do it out of misinformation (like say, gertrude was tricked into her binding with agnes). he was only “tricked” into picking up the wrong piece of paper which stripped him of his free will, in a very unsettling mirror of his first mark. everything after that was completely without any input from him, informed or no. jonah ended the world. jon was just forced to be present for it.

its like if i offered u a handshake, then when u got close picked u up and threw you at someone and then said you were “tricked” into hitting them. like no there were actually a few more steps there between the deception and the violence.

So when Joshua Gillespie tries to just ignore the supernatural enough that it goes away on it’s own, he’s “a legend” and “the smartest man in the podcast”, but when I, Jonathan Sims Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute—

Part of me wants to bitch about the Magnus Archives cause that’s what I do when I’m tired and stressed. Another part of me wants to start a fight with people about the Magnus Archives cause that’s what I do when I’m tired and stressed. I’m tired and stressed. Someone come fight me.

Jon Archivist teaches Dean Supernatural how to make a cuppa.

I started this artwork for the TMA Big Bang 2023, but unfortunately we had to discontinue the bang. Fortunately, my group decided to keep working our project anyway. I worked with Levaa on their amazing SPN/TMA crossover fic pandora’s box!

[ID: Colored pencil drawing of Dean Winchester from Supernatural (left) and Jonathan Sims from The Magnus Archives (right) making tea together. They are at the stove in Bobby’s kitchen. The two men are half-facing each other. Dean is looking down and stirring the tea with a spoon. Jon is looking up at Dean, and pointing at him, like he’s lecturing his technique.

Dean is tall with very short dark-blonde hair and tanned skin. He is wearing a dark green collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows, and blue jeans. Jon is several inches shorter than Dean. His hair is wavy and a mix of grey and black, and it’s cut messily, like it was trimmed by a non-professional. He has lighter olive-toned skin. He has several scars on his face and right hand, some small pockmarks, some twisting patterns like wormwood. He also has a burn scar on his right palm. He is wearing an oversized plaid flannel in purple, black and grey. The sleeves are too long and rolled up to the wrists.

They are in Bobby’s kitchen from Supernatural. The walls are pale green, and the countertops are off-white. There is various clutter in the kitchen background, including candles on the windowsill, a bottle of whiskey on the counter, a calendar of cars on the wall, a woodcut of an animal on the wall, and salt and pepper shakers above the stove. There is a coffee maker and a box of tea bags on the counter to the left, and dishes in the sink to the right.
