I'm writing this while waiting for my doctor's appointment so if it's incoherent it's because I'm very stressed thanks for providing me with the distraction
I love Joshua Gillespie as much as the next guy but he's not as awesome as people say he is and he would not be "the only one to survive the apocalypse" or whatever. Dude was just avoidant and accepted the horrors but if the horrors were more aggressive it would get him killed. Literally one of my favorite quotes from this show "it's funny how fear can become as routine as hunger" comes from this episode and it shows exactly that. I get why people think that because freezing the key *was* smart but he still took that coffin in at the end of the day.
What I'm trying to say is none of the characters are smart or dumb, some of them are just luckier than the others and their fear response happened to go against the fear that tormented them.
He's still one of my favorite statement givers but not because he's the perfect final girl who would always survive but because he's just a guy who had fucked up nightmarish thing happen to him and survived in the most underwhelming way possible.
