October 2025

I wanna draw more JonDaisy (platonic) tonight. Someone give me some ideas.

Hey did you guys know that Jon?

Ninety-Nine…. One-Hundred! I WILL be skipping I Guess You Had To Be There. It’s a poorly done gimmick episode and I don’t care about Peter FUCKASS Lukas’s introduction. So. Dust To Dust.

MAG 99

‘Merica. Again.

OOOOOOOOHHH-KLAHOMA WHERE THE WIND COME SWEEPIN DOWN THE PLAINNN!!!

Thinking about it this might actually end up a really short post. Cause there isn’t much to say tbh. We had to learn about the Dust Bowl in school, but I’d never heard of dust pneumonia I don’t think until this episode.

God. See. And the fact we later hear of The Usher Foundation in D.C. just proves this BUT THEN JONNY ON HIS OWN GODDAMN BLOG IS LIKE ~~ I pIcTuRe It SeT iN tHe NeW eNgLaNd ArEa ~~ completely forgetting that he A) literally gave a location, B) was RIGHT here! It WOULD be a function of government!!! There would be the head office in D.C. with satellite offices in the state capitols! GOD. Whatever. Everything to do with any of the “"sister”“ locations PISS ME OFF. Whatever. Whatever. But he also doesn’t even see it as a function of the government. Just a singular foundation. Which. Okay. Fair. Guess that was our assumption. But you did forget you literally sent Jon to America to visit it. It has a set location already in the fucking podcast. Idiot. WHATEVER.

"Did you know Boise City was founded by fraud?” Yes, actually. I’m sure this was also in our lesson plan regarding the Dust Bowl.

Its weird they made a parallel to Martin and Micheal, right?

Anyway. The less said about the fuckass timeline regarding Micheal’s time as an archival assistant the better. So. Cool. He was her assistant. At some point. Whatever. Moving on.

And here’s the confirmation that Jan was who she tossed into the hole that shall not be acknowledged. Cool.

They don’t really react appropriately to things imo. Why is the whole situation with Micheal such a shock to him? Why is he screaming out as if INVITING THE DAMN THING TO SHOW UP. God these sudden shoutings really annoy me. Maybe reveals just aren’t hitting anymore cause I already know them :\

I… okay. One. Yes. Jon. You are putting her in danger. You have your job back. Why are you at the flat listening to this. Two. Why IS she??? She says he’s trying to cut himself off but he’s literally at her home listening to a recording from Gertrude. Cutting himself off would be what he did in season four: staying in the archives and holing up in his office. He doesn’t talk to the others because most of them actively dislike him, he’s busy on wild goose chases, and… yeah. Which brings me to. Three. Are you not included in those 'people’, Georgina? I am just.

I think I’m slowly accepting that my frustration is just. Confusion. Confusion as to what she wants, what she expects of him. Confusion as to what he’s supposed to do. What the rules are. All of it. Her demands are so broad and vague as to be utterly useless. And not only that, but highly contradictory. There was no satisfying her cause I don’t know if she even knows what she wanted. And she sure as hell didn’t know what he ACTUALLY needed. Cause HE FUCKING DIDN’T EITHER. But he does come up with SOMETHING. Not that it works, whatever that would mean. Not that it changes anything. Not that any of them reciprocate in any shape or form. He has no bridges to cross in that regard. He already burned them.

“-you’re a grown-ass man-” Funny.

AAAND now he’s kidnapped. Great.

MAG 100

I don’t think I’ve ever actually listened to this episode.

OH. WAIT. LYNNE. CELIA. Forgot this is where she was introduced. We never got any info on this 'ghost’ she saw. A fire ghost. Agnes, perchance? Then she had the 'trapped in a Stranger domain and lost her identity’ before the dimension hopping after “"Towerfall”“ and yeah all her importance in Protocol. I don’t listen to it, though I look at spoilers, and I’m pretty sure she never talked about the fire ghost there??? Still say that’s how Agnes can still win but whatever…..

"The story is: I saw I ghost.” THEN WHY ARE YOU H E R E. If you’re not going to give any USABLE information that can be researched or looked into, then why. are. you. here. So annoying. All of these. We get confirmation that they actually happened through the season retrospective, though I’m loathe to accept anything from it as canon, so. These all really happened. So. What is she even doing. What did she want.

Okay. Yeah. I can’t bring myself to care enough to listen to a lot of rambling nonsense. The only other thing of note, as I said, is Peter FUCKING Lukas showing up at the end to whisk someone away into the Lonely. Funny how no one blames MELANIE for leaving him alone to be preyed upon. Unlike how they blame Jon for every careless mistake HE makes. I’m fine. I’m not bitter at all.

Yeah. That’s all. I’m done here.

*said with the understanding that people don’t deserve to die for writing annoying fanfiction*

I should get to kill people for writing fics where Jonathan Sims has sex

I dunno if I’m gonna continue my listen through. I think I’m in a depressive episode. I don’t really wanna do anything. I don’t really feel anything right now.

Feeling sad myself so I’m sitting here thinking of this scene and how it’s so dumb cause literally just the episode prior there’s THIS scene.

SOUNDS LIKE HE’S PRETTY FUCKING ARTICULATE ABOUT HIS EMOTIONS HERE, BABE, YOU JUST DIDN’T WANT TO HEAR THEM.

And yeah Martin’s point was him not being emotionally open and tbf he wasn’t talking about how he felt about smiting Not!Sasha but if THIS is Martin’s reaction, I can see why. Dismissive, dismissive, dismissive.

All that said, how is he supposed to talk about his feelings anyway if, as the first scene posits, he’s unable to articulate them beyond ‘sad’.

It’s called alexithymia, babe, LOOK IT UP.

Fuuuucccck a little over a week until The Hilltop.

justatiredghost:

the fact that the show states John just doesn’t have sex, and yet that’s never questioned or challenged, and he gets into a major romantic relationship and it never comes up as a point of contention is so so important to me. And while john starts off pretending to be cold and analytical, it’s all an act because actually he is one of the most compassionate and caring characters in the entire show. He just means so much to me as far as ace rep goes he’s so good and I love him so much

even-a-hero-needs-some-hope:

When gravity falls and earth becomes sky… fear the gaze of the All-Seeing Eye.

Thinking about Jon murking Jonah this fine morning.

☺️

You people will get into a piece of media with the most broken husk of a man as a protagonist and then insist on making him normal

The worst part is you’re making him ordinary and well-adjusted in order to fit him into the blandest most common domestic relationship dynamic imaginable. But it’s fine cause it’s gay and also asexual so that means it’s progressive right? Right?

idiot-in-the-walls:

Would Peter Parker be an avatar of the Web. Genuine question

Personally I don’t think so?

When taking into account that the Webs whole… thing is being ‘the fear of being controlled or trapped without knowing it, and your will not being your own, of being manipulated’ — per the TMA wiki — I don’t particularly see that as something Peter Parker does.

If anything. Peter Parker is a victim of the Desolation.

Sending Jon to the MCU to hang with Moon Knight et al and them looking at him like

ms paint drawn figure staring at laptop in horror memeALT

“And people think WE’RE crazy?” <- Guy who is multiple guys cause of his continuous childhood trauma looking at a guy who willingly gave away two fucking ribs for what amounted to a single corn chip.

Actually it’d be more like. Marc nodding sagely when Jon describes the hour he spent trying to cut off a finger and giving advice about a better way to have done it or other options while Jake and Steven are in abject misery about there being TWO OF MARC NOW.

Jon reveals he was orphaned as a child as a way to apologize for seeing with MCU-ified powers what happened to them as kids and Marc absently thinking “G-d I wish that were me”, causing Jake to cackle while Steven is just like “Marc, no-!”

Thinking back on this (cause I’m mentally ill) and thinking of the inkling of a thought I had about them eventually traveling to New York and running into Spider-Man and Jon having cognitive dissonance in meeting Peter.

Cause like. “I’m allowed to know what Spider-Man is.” Cause like. What if teen Jon, after the movie came out in 02, decided to use him as a way to get over his arachnophobia (failed). What if, despite that, he still kind of ‘looked up’ to him. Casually. Cause like. Great power DOES come with great responsibility. As he was well aware of.

Then he’s transported to a place where Spider-Man is real and just over half his age and he has to grapple with the dissonance of a CHILD being someone he considered stronger and morally superior to himself. Because that is a CHILD. A child should not have that weight on him.

Idk. Like I said. Oooo I’m ~mEnTaLlY iLl~

At this point the only thing I do when I go through the tags is block role-players and JonElias shippers. And anyone who makes the usual five jokes everyone makes cause they’re brain dead.

cardentist:

can you IMAGINE being jonathan sims? your scary boss tells you he’s making you the head of a department You Don’t Work In, that requires degrees you don’t have, and when you ask him if you can at Least have a training period you’re told you can’t because the previous person who held that position “Died in the line of duty.” nobody ever elaborates on what that means

With holidays and shit coming around I’ll likely not be around as much. Also with it being NaNoWriMo starting the end of this week I’m gonna try and focus on actually CREATING things. But I’ll be here for any spoilers regarding the Hilltop show if there are any.

martinblackwoodhater:

i was trying to be nice and unbiased and therefore i wasn’t a fan of Melanie in the past but like now i can very much admit to being biased and like idk i like melanie i think she’s cool and maybeeeee if she was a man she’d pmo but like whateverrr because she’s not and she’s interesting and she doesn’t piss me off like martin does and i love her tbh 🔥🔥

cardentist:

I KNOW it’s all just jokes, but I’m rewatching the magnus archives and the sheer amount of popular posts poking fun at jon for being a “skeptic” in season 1 feels like watching someone lose chess to a dog

itskandosii:

I’ve rarely related to a character more than I related to Jon during this exchange 😂🤦

Poetry goes right over my head. It’s too abstract for me, usually, proooooobably because I’m autistic. I prefer prose that is point blank and slaps me in the face with its meaning.

I also used to think all or most poetry was bad, until I relaxed and realized that 1) there is a broader expanse of poetry out there than the stuff I’d been exposed to that I didn’t like, 2) everyone’s artistic expression is different and that’s a good thing! And 3) not everything is meant for me to understand. As long as the poet enjoys it and feels like they’ve expressed themself, that’s all that really matters. Me getting it doesn’t matter at all, because it simply isn’t meant for me.

So anyway, instance #5,387 in which I related to Jon The Archivist Sims. 😂

In a similar vein to the last ask you responded to, I’m going to Hilltop with a friend who’s been procrastinating the last three eps of Archives for almost a year now. (In fairness to them, I am a similar — if not worse — brand of crazy and got stuck in between acts 2 and 3 of s5 for several years). Do you have any words of encouragement for them to finish Archives before Hilltop and avoid any potential spoilers for Archives that may be in Hilltop?

rqbossman:

In that specific situation, I pretty strongly suggest listening to those last three episodes. You’ll be glad you did.

lunehowls:

(MAG185) been bouncing this scene in my head for a while

On that note. Tomorrow. Fucking. Tomorrow. Oh no.

Oh fuck off with your no spoiler policy.

manueladominguezliker:

Oh fuck off with your no spoiler policy.

I just need to know which of the choices from that poll I made was correct 🫩😔

dathen:

Who did Jon actually suspect in TMA season 2?

An age-old fandom joke is to make fun of season 2 Jon for “accusing Tim and Martin of murder” and “he suspected everyone but Not!Sasha.”  I’m on a roll from my “did season 1 Jon dismiss statements” series, so now I gotta tackle this one!

My main goal is to point out the times he DID suspect Not!Sasha–and was the only human on the team to do so–but for the hell of it I’m going to keep a tally of how many times he mentions investigating/suspecting each person.  I’m also going to note other out-of-place things Jon noticed, some of which were due to Leitner, but definitely played a role in confirming that someone within the archives was being deceptive.

I’m getting angry about how the fandom portrays Jon again :(

martinblackwoodhaterfan:

I’m not saying that Jon could have avoided his fate if he had better friends, but man. So much unnecessary shit could have been prevented if the people in his environment actually cared about him and didn’t just view him as more of a problem than a person

Jon, as a kid, had a habit of wandering into places he shouldn’t. So I propose as a teen he discovered parkour and that’s how he was able to get into Gertrude’s flat and also in his downtime he dresses like a skater in layered short sleeve over long sleeve shirts and wide legged pants. He alternates between wearing Converse and Vans but he prefers Vans.
