I don’t know what fucks me up more when I think about it: Alex and Jonny sticking to the original plan for Martin to be a “spider person” this whole time, and he was just yet another part of the web influencing Jon towards his ultimate fate as lynchpin of both the apocalypse and the proliferation of the Web through the multiverse; or that Martin didn’t even have to be a spider person to be the perfect anchor point to pull Jon into changing his mind at the last minute and fulfill the Web’s design for apotheosis. If Martin had not been there, nor in what could generously be called a relationship with Jon, Jon would have tanked the attempt on the Panopticon and continued his plan of starving the Fears out, and the Web would have been up a creek without a paddle.
I think I’m just a little fucked up about that.
