so like full disclosure i do not have DID and its also less of a headcanon and more of just something to think about so don’t take anything i say as gospel.

HOWEVER

when that scene where Jon forgot he was at Martin’s birthday party happened I sort of just. stared at it like hmmmm. cause that was weird, right? obviously it was probably to remind everyone that Jon’s an egotistical dick who doesn’t think anything about anyone else and blah blah blah. but then I remembered that he lost an entire month, specifically a very traumatic month, and I’m also sure that was just time shenanigans and also to explain how he survived and wasn’t catatonic or whatever. y'know. AND THEN. UPTON HOUSE. and suddenly them not being too surprised he forgot the birthday party he info-dumped during seems a bit….. like an established pattern.

now, as we know, Jon had a traumatic childhood event. multiple, in fact, considering losing parents, even that young, is a trauma. and despite what everyone thinks, yes, Jon’s grandmother did resent him and neglected him and that’s abuse. ON TOP OF THE QUOTE UNQUOTE STANDARD BULLYING. BY SOMEONE TWICE HIS AGE. So. that’s also an establish pattern of trauma and abuse. for an extended period of time. during the time frame clinicians believe to be the when identity and personality forms and all that. and we have clear evidence that he likely never got any sort of help for anything about that childhood. cause. y'know. everything about him.

what i’m getting at is it’s interesting how many boxes Jon ticks for a dissociative disorder of any kind.

but also. when you think about it. its sort of. interesting. as well. how his biggest trauma, his raison d'etre, is… well, per the wiki… ’being controlled or trapped without knowing it, and your will not being your own, of being manipulated’…… very interesting, innit……

but all that’s conjecture. there’s no real evidence that he has DID. not even how shocking it is to go to “tell me if you see any good cows” from “but i don’t count martin, as he is unlikely to contribute anything but delays”. or the fact that his mental fortitude against the marks, the first one specifically, is part of why he was chosen in the first place. because he could see it and experience it and compartmentalize it. dare i say. archive it. and then MOVE. ON. without it completely destroying his psyche?

okay. sorry. this got out of hand. i now have a headache. so. yeah. uh… whoops. i accidentally. gave mental repercussions. beyond being a dick. for Jon’s trauma. and now he’s multiple people. to me.
